Apparently we offered more aswell. Would have been silly to pay that much.
Need good CBS to get back to where they were and what do they do.
Buy a 30 yr old from Valencia and an arsenal reserve.
People operating barcas transfer policy don't have a clue.

Barca are looking at spending over £30m on Mathieu and Vermaelen.
Good thing they bought Suarez.
Stretty, they could've used the Suarez money on someone like Benatia. They're run by clowns.
Their main target was Marquinhos, and since that failed they downgrade massively to Vermaelen. Some of those Barca fans must be crying.

They could of got him and benetia for what they spent on Suarez. They could of bought a whole new backline for what they spent on Neymar who doesn't fit in that side at all.
They need to sell him pronto but he sells too many shirts.

Most of their best players came through their academy, most of their transfers are flops

They really do make some ridiculously poor decisions.
The Ibra-Eto'o trade stands out, especially since they let him go for £20m the next season So within the span of 16 months they lost Eto'o, Ibra, and £20m+ in transfer fees
Barca wanted Smalling?
Have a word.
Who said they wanted Smalling?
daylight robbery methinks
No Hoody, Arsenal wanted Smalling.

They wanted to swap for Verm. He's a good CB to be fair Hoody. He's just crap at RB.
Wenger wanted Smalling when we signed him. He's a good defender. He's just been pisśed about and suffered injuries the last couple of seasons.

Sha'gging Sam Cooke constantly hasn't done well for his legs and groin.

Why? Because of a choice I made when I was four years old somehow makes means my judgement on a footballers skills lacks credence? Fool.
All our CB's could be the guy from my left foot and Smalling would still be an exceptionally average player.
Smalling is better than all the Liverpool CBs, which isn't saying much tbf. He's also probably a better RB than Johnson, again not saying much.
