I just hope that he is not being sold to usher in the purchase of a marquee striker signing like Cavani

I think One of Rooney or RVP would be the ones being sold if we were to bring in Cavani
We just couldn't fit them all in
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Cavani is even more of a donkey but has a nice foreign name
I really hope this is true

That is a surprise
Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has been speaking at a news conference about reports Danny Welbeck will be allowed to leave the club.
Van Gaal said: "I know what I said to Danny Welbeck and he knows exactly what I said. I think the media is guessing."
as clear as mud

LVG would hardly be so cryptic if the story were fabricated. One of those cases where silence seems to speak for itself.

Agreed
Looks to me like Welbz is history unless LVG is wumming
Match of the Dave @MatchOfTheDave 10m
Danny Welbeck's chance conversion rate last season was 25% (36 shots, 9 goals). Mario Balotelli's was 13.3% (105 shots, 14 goals).
Welbeck could have been a much better player but for some pretty selfish coaching from Ferguson, who basically sacrificed Welbeck's development and used him as a shield to cover for his team's lack of legs.
One of our best back up players at the club, academy graduate and offers something a little different to the first choice players.
Would be a terrible decision to sell him!

Seems like it could be the player's decision to leave. He may not want to be backup and certainly won't be first choice. He's unlikely to get a game out wide either. LVG has said that our squad is top heavy so if a backup forward wants to leave he is not going to move mountains to keep him.
Also, he is one of the few fringe players for whom we could actually get some money.
