I'd go with Reid and Lansbury. Lansbury is the box to box type who offers all kinds of qualities all around the pitch.
With everyone fit, I'd be tempted to drop Fryatt, and play a 5 man midfield of Antonio, Reid, Lansbury, Vaughan and Burke. After all, that's the formation we more or less switched to after not starting off that great against Bournemouth and Reading, to good effect.
Great article.
For once we have the opportunity to rotate players and keep em fresh. Horses for courses that's my view. I'm confident in our management team to get the right fit for each game. More important have the luxury of changing things if required. Reidy is my favorite player, but Vaughn has been fantastic when he's played.
The more you analyse the harder it gets
I can see Vaughan and Lansbury getting twenty minutes off the bench for the next few games. Pearce will use the international break to have a good evaluation of who is performing to their maximum and who isn't. Tactical changes during matches like the one at Bournemouth will occur quite frequently as I see Pearce as a manager who would rather chase the three points than settle for one.
It's a 46 game season and everyone will get their chance as form fluctuates.
That's the main thing I guess, we have lots of choices now, and Pearce will be able to change the course of games by making the necessary changes, as he demonstrated he's more than capable of doing in the Bournemouth and Reading games.
I'd actually be tempted to drop Antonio and move Reid to the left to accommodate Vaughan. However there's no way we can do that as he's on fire. Maybe it's about mixing things up when we play away. Go with the 5 man midfield when we're away from home. Stick with two up front at home. I don't think it's an issue right noe because Vaughan isn't fit but for me he is the complete footballer. Nice to have the options though and Osborne showed his talent when he came on against Bournemouth.
Yeah Osborne looked great when he came on, and we all know what Pato is capable of! McLaughlin backing up the lot. Good times
And I forgot about Tesche He could be utter garbage and we'd still have a stunning midfield.
With so much quality in the midfield department I would go with a five man midfield. But rather than just one up front I would go with three at the back. We now have the quality defenders who could cope. With everyone fit my team would be
Darlow
Hobbs Mancienne Wilson (or Lascelles)
Hunt Lansbury Vaughan Reid Cohen
Fryatt Assombalonga
Redfor50 yrs
352 would work with that starting 11 as both Mancienne and Wilson can play from the back which is something that Man U are lacking .
the potential of this squad is scary.
Like I said.http. Scary.

i would expect the returning injured players to follow the same route into the team as Lichaj.
start on the bench and come on when one of the midfield don't perform
having said that i suspect Cohen and Reid may get a rest Tuesday night
Pearce is hinting that the injured players will get game time tonight. Whether they all start together is another thing. The start to the season has been encouraging. I would say Forest are probably at around 70% at the moment. Reckon it'll be September before the team really clicks.
