It's a family thing, but it worked better in the old days. My dad was a 13-time European Champion, 4 times with Real Madrid, then with Benfica and Inter, twice each with Ajax and Bayern, later with Liverpool, Forest and Milan.
It's so much tougher in this day and age (I started following the family tradition in '94). Every single time my team have reached the final, they've lost. It's like the Benfica curse.
You can't imagine what it felt like when Madrid won those 3 CL's in 5 years back around the turn of the century. It was like, "Every time I start supporting them they lose, and then as soon as I stop supporting them they go and win it again. "
I hope Madrid break my duck this year, but I don't think we've spent enough.

No it just means Real are an ambitious club and want strength in depth in every position. Benzema just signed a new contract, he is going nowhere.
