Keeping Vlaar is like a new signing. So long as he doesn't get a long term injury. We've done OK this summer. If Gabby can keep up his new found enthusiasm, then we're a lot stronger than last year.

A good start to the season has once again marred Lambert's judgement. We lack creativity, anyone can see that. Delph is an energetic box to box midfielder but cannot open up a defence, Westwood does nothing as far as I can see except pass sideways and put terrible corners in, Sanchez is purely a holding player. Further forward N'Zogbia, Cole and Grealish are three players who do create things but one is recovering from long term injury, the other is old and not fit to play 90 minutes any more, and the other is young and raw (although exceptionally talented). Also, Lambert favours lesser players like Gabby and Weimann just cos they work harder.
Really annoys me when I see players like Ben Arfa, Sigurddsson, Holtby, Moses, even Gaston Ramirez move to clubs inferior to us in what they have achieved, and yet we are crying out for at least two players like that who have the creativity to make things happen. I don't know why we didn't get in a couple of loans: Salah and Holtby for example. I look at clubs like Stoke, Hull and Swansea now and think they are a more attractive proposition than we are. It's a joke.
I'm happy with the start we have made but fear we could still go down as midfield is so weak. We have a strong goalkeeper, a decent defence, and when Benteke is fit a goal scorer of real class. However, our central midfield and wide areas are weak and should have been addressed.
Very disappointing.
Sounds like Cleverley has been signed on loan.
Villa just waiting for approval as it was a late deal. Fingers crossed I think he would be a very good signing for us.

Don't worry you got cleverley
At least you never paid for him
At least you never paid for him
Come May you will have wished you didn't pay for many of your new signings

Paddy, my main gripe about Westwood, similar to Weimann and Gabby, is that he is played every week and seems undroppable. He is good for the squad and has certain qualities like a very good first touch, but in my opinion he lacks massively in other areas (passing forwards, tackling, closing down, strength) and should not be playing every game. I have been to the games and watched him and have seen him take corners and seriously I am disappointed he is our corner taker as we have a lot of height to aim for and his corners are more often than not poor. Lambert will have to drop him now surely as we have better options.
I have mixed feelings about Cleverley but I am glad we have got someone in. I have never been too impressed watching him play but early on in his career he showed signs of being a good player and hopefully he can add some creativity and reignite his career for us.
My team when everyone is fit would be this:
...................Guzan......................
Hutton...Vlaar...Okore...Cissokho
..................Sanchez....................
...........Cleverley.....Delph...........
N'Zogbia........................Grealish
...................Benteke...................
Subs: Given, Senderos, Westwood, Weimann, Gabby, Kozak, Bent
Really excited about Jack Grealish and hope he becomes a regular by the end of the season. He has the potential to be a phenomenal player as long as he breaks in early and gets given his chance, which looks like happening. Needs to avoid any serious injuries too.

Just remember the last midlands side to start as well as you did. Went down
We only spent money on 4 of our signings so good one
And don't worry the villa fan Lescott didn't even want to go to his beloved club

Will wolves ever play in the premier league again...I have my doubts
Gardner has taken everyone by surprise as to how good he was in the first two games, thriving being back in the midlands and hopefully can recapture the form which got him his £6m move
You wish you were in our position, you wish you had had a number of successive seasons in the premier league whilst we got relegated down to league 1
Jealously is a nasty thing
This was a villa post Mr Baggie....
That is why you are taking the flak
Hes earnt more in 5 minutes than I do in a day :'(
