Hound, don't think thois is a slight at you alone, there were many more peole on here when the deal with the Dons was done. I realised after I wrote this you might take offence but none is intended.

I just wanted to say how pleased I am at the outcome.

It's great for the town NY. I've been keeping a very keen eye on the dons results this season. What's the situation with promotion to the super league from the championship could they do it?

NY - there is no way you could have ever contributed to the famous book "How to win friends and influence people" is there !!

For the record, i don't consider that my comments were sneering.
If you care to read back all i have ever said is that i am not interested in what the Dons do and that i consider that Brammall is more interested in the rugby than the football.

There are also lots of ifs and what ifs in the possible outcome of the rugby.
What if they don't beat Batley and what if Keighley beat Featherstone?
How much income will that bring?

Hound that is why I added the second post, I realised that it looked like a personal shot, but that was not intended. Many of those who were against, do not post now.

Azza, they will go into a league next year with Bradford and London and the top two will be promoted to Super League. Of the teams in the Championship who can contend are us and Leigh. Featherstone is not as financially viable as people may think and don't have the infrastructure that the Dons have, neither does Halifax, so the big four look to me to be Bradford, London Leigh and the Dons.

The 250 or 450K will help towards building ther team to compete.

Rovers got £250000 for husband and spent........Rock All

I do not care if they won the Challenge Cup, I don't like rugby league.
Doncaster Rovers is a football club, with all it's up and downs and comings and goings. But it is an Association Football Club.

if you like Ruby League good for you, but go buy your old ground. It is still empty last time I looked.

Never the twain should meet.

What a load of B8ll8x. There is no wonder the world cannot solve its problems with such small minded people about.

We are all now part of Club Doncaster and until the owners decide to change that is how it will be.

Don't forget these are the people most on here want to run the Rovers, get rid of them and you get rid of the Dons (possibly), however, you might also get rid of the Rovers as well.

Bramall and Watson have made their money from a lot of Doncaster people, if they were reliant on Rovers fans ( lack of numbers) they would have been bankrupt years ago. OR let's be fair we have 50,000 supporters but only 10% go to games.

It should be recognised that the only reason the Rovers have a stadium at all, is because the grants, loans and permissions were only agreed on condition that a Community Stadium was built. Without the Dons and others involvement, it would not be here. And quite possibly neither would the Rovers.

I also feel that I have a duty, pride and honour in wishing all the best for all our local teams, representing Doncaster around the country!

So what your preaching, on a football forum not a rugby league forum. That if you disagree or dislike something you must be small minded.

if I wanted to comment on the Dons I would go on the Dons ja606 page........dont seem to be able to locate it though.

look I do not buy into the Club Doncaster dream, because in my opinion it cannot work. That does not make me small minded. I have played, competed, and watched many sports and taken them on their own merits.

You have your own likes and loves which you hold dear. I hope you cherish and enjoy them, but dont call me small minded my friend just because I disagree with them.

Doncaster Rovers survived before the Keepmoat and are steeped in history, some good some bad but they are my football club and I am proud of them. I will still be following them if we go down to the Sunday Alliance playing on Cantley Park.

RTID and up yours

It looks like the Dons didn't win all that prize money then.
I said that there were a lot of ifs and buts in the possible outcome.
Shame really.

Yes. it sounded as though John Kear and Batley wanted survival more than the Dons wanted second or third place.

At least Aussie lad will be pleased, sorry, that's me sounding small minded now!!!!!

posted on 7/9/14

Oh yes. As long as it makes you happy.

posted on 7/9/14

I suppose this will mean that Club Doncaster resources will have to be pumped into the Dons again next season.

posted on 7/9/14

Not necessarily Hound, they should be able to bring in quite a bit more sponsorship for that season.

As you can see Aussie lad, I felt I was being small minded , so how about a truce, I'll accept your view and respect it if you will do the same for me.

Anything that shows Donny in a good light ain't all bad. I was also glad that the Rugby Union team won its first game back in the Championship.

They could be the next to join up. If they do it could solve a lot of problems with both codes playing at Castle Park. Now that to me would be progress until and if the Dons got into Super League.

Sorry for the delay in replying but I am in sunny Espania. Not a promblemo Mr Yankee, the irony is that I enjoy Rugby Union and have been to Twickers and Castle Park. Though I just cant get my head around Rugby League.

Nice to be pals, isn't it Aussie Lad? Mind you most Aussies prefer League to Union.

posted on 9/9/14

Yeah. Never went to the old Lang Park in Brisbane, always been soccer, union and fishing for me. Don't go deal on the cricket either, but it won me a few bucks when we spanked your lot in the Ashes.
