Kevin Kilbane on D.Moyes time at United
'If David was still the manager, United would have made exactly the same signings this summer.
'I don't imagine for one minute that Louis van Gaal has gone out and targeted Luke Shaw. That deal was done. The Ander Herrera deal was done.
'Van Gaal could have said no to those players but he is obviously happy to have them. If David was still there, he would have got the exact same players.'
Kilbane added: 'For me, David was not given two things at United - time and money. I'm convinced that if he had been given two or three seasons he would have been a success.
'He needed time - two or three years minimum - to get his side the way he would have wanted.'

Rubbish!
He would not have signed Blind and Rojo. So that's false. And I doubt he would have got Falcao and Di Maria.
He did not have what it took to be a Utd manager. He lacked authority and lacked confidence. In his interviews he looked scared. He took the challenge as an honour to manager Utd. Van Gaal took the challenge as, "Utd are lucky to have me, I always succeed". Even when it was clear he was becoming the Utd manager, he spoke about how he had other offers. The mentality makes a huge difference.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Right on!
We were pretty much the only team that could afford Di Maria to be honest. Most likely would have signed Falcao anyway as well.
But transfers aren't really as important as what you then do with them. Think most of us would prefer those players left to LVG than to Moyes.

I do like the fact that pundits who preach this line of Moyes not getting "enough money" do conveniently forget he spent 65million on two numbers 10's in a season, players we didn't need at that time, and you can even argue that we still dont need them.

Forrr - I'm Red John (U18420)
Since Moyes was sacked and Van Gaal was hired a huge change has happened in terms of Utd showing ambition. If we kept Moyes on after finishing 7th and in a sorry state, I find it difficult to believe top players wouldn't question Utd. A lot don't even know what Moyes achieved... Every top player knows Van Gaal! When Di Maria, Blind, Falcao etc signed they talked about Van Gaal being a great manager. It clearly was a factor.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No way Moyes would have signed Blind or Rojo, I'm not claiming that.
My point being that no one else could afford Di Maria and he wanted to leave Real Madrid. And Falcao signed for Monaco, probably wasn't too bothered who was the manager then.
Also DM shouldnt have been given more time.
He made us into a laughing stock. So much so this board was laughing its way to a seasons end.

Not disagreeing at all. Getting LVG was absolutely the right call.
OT: "I will fight to stay here," he said, "and I want to make my mark. I would like to be a legend at this club." (Falcao quote)

Even if we did sign Di Maria and Falcao, I wouldn't be confident of Moyes doing anything positive with them. I am personally very glad he's history. He wouldn't get us competing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That's what I mean by saying its obviously better to leave these players (our squad) to LVG than Moyes.

DM did 3 positive things at his time at United which I wont forget, even if his time was a total disaster overall.
1.Integrating Januzaj into the first team.
2.Getting Januzaj to sign a lengthy contract.
3.Getting Rooney to stay and while dealing with the speculation in a confident manner.
Now im going to clean my hands.

Exactly. Agreed! Is that a real Falcao quote?
Van Gaal has also said he is trying to get our players to play much quicker passing, however because of this they are making more mistakes. He is really focussing on our passing game and hopefully we will see rewards of.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah its a real quote. Seems like we will be buying him next summer then.
