I made a comment before half time if red devils can hang on to there leads and both scorelines stayed the same 2-1 and 1-0. Sometimes you have to suffer as a fan to enjoy.

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal: "The win is very important, you can imagine that. We played a very good first half with attractive football. We conceded again a goal from in set-plays. Maybe you can watch that their number 15 makes a foul on goalkeeper David De Gea.

"But OK, I am very happy that we hold the result until the end because it is very difficult to play against a team who have one more player but who also play a lot of high balls. I am very pleased with the attitude of my players."

hmm everyone seemed to crowd de gea every corner. I think de gea saved a header that led to rebound falling to someone to hit post and then rebound go in.

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal on Wayne Rooney's red card: "It was a break-out of a set-play of ours and he makes a professional foul I think you can call it like that. I don't think Wayne wanted to do it that way but he did it and you can give a red card.

"Luke Shaw was always injured but now I could play with him for 90 minutes. He had a little cramp and it was amazing he lasted 90 minutes. Also, Paddy McNair played a very good match and I'm very pleased for him that we won.

"The rhythm of the game is very high. You cannot compare it with Germany and Spain. There is always pressure on the ball. Most of the English teams play physically. We have to keep the ball more easily and then we can improve our play."

Everyone in the back 4 did a superb job. Superb

No. Just no.

West ham got plenty of chances.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Seriously?

I remember DDG saving a shot at the near post.

Can you list the plentiful chances of WHU?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hammers had one clear cut chance at that is about it.Yes they pressured us but they did it without really testing de gea.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Luckily they had Carlton cole up front.

Man utd had 7 points after 6 games last season so we got 1 more point already and if we beat Everton a 6 pointer type game we will have taken down one of our rivals for top 6.

Last time I was this scared was Man utd 1-0 Barcelona.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Was that statistically the most scared you've been in a football match?
.................................
Yep, even more so then when John Terry was stepping up for that penalty in Moscow. Every minute of that Barcelona game was so tense and it was now or never chance to goto the final again after 2007 disappointment with the golden oldies. Scholes goal and the ridiculous amount of added time. I remember Henry heading straight at Van Der Saar after like 85 mins.

I just watched it and Shaw was really poor. The goal led from the corner he gave away not really a problem but the disallowed goal came from Shaw positioning and another couple of backstick chances came from poor Shaw marking. I think Shaw will get a dvd of his performance to analyse like Blackett got against Swansea.
