Carragher, United and Liverpool

Carragher is outrageously biassed towards Liverpool. Take that bias away and he's not a bad pundit.

posted on 30/9/14

Carragher talks poo, like all the TV pundits, it is what they get paid to do. Be honest, the average pundit is not the sharpest tool in the box, I doubt many would be able to hold down a job in B & Q, if they were not involved with football.

Some of you take desperation to new levels. You're slowly moving towards Hafi levels.

Carragher is a good pundit, he's not as good as Neville by any means but he's a very good foil. There's no need to have a whine, everytime he says something you don't agree with. It's not exactly a crazy suggestion he made.

Carragher actually said he thought you would finish top 4, ahead of Liverpool.

Both he and Neville had a bit of a think about it, and both decided that the fact that LVG had more preparation time between games would be the factor that swung it in United's favour.

But these views still managed to upset you .... outrageous bias...

Feck me, some of these guys could twist you saying they'd win the league into you saying they'd get relegated.

Both of you must have skipped the beginning then.

You know the bit where he says he only thinks United will finish top 4 because they have less games.

But don't worry about it, it's only the part on which a based the article on which you are commenting.....

Yes, how exactly does this differ from “both decided that the fact that LVG had more preparation time between games would be the factor that swung it in United's favour.”?

Gary Neville pretty much agreed. He said he thought that the difficulty for both teams was having new players to settle in, but that LVG would probably get there first because of the extra preparation time between games.

posted on 30/9/14

So Carragher says United stand a good chance of finishing above Liverpool due to having less games, and having more time to prepare for league games.
Outrageous.

Typical....

Only hearing what you want to hear.

If United and Liverpool had the same amount of games Carragher thinks Liverpool would get top 4. Why?

Because he thinks Liverpool have a better team.... thats the point.

You must commented on the wrong article because it seems like you are arguing a different point.

Neville doesn't pretty much agree...

He goes on to talk about LVG getting the team to gel in this season and getting them to play better.

He never draws a conclusion and is on the fence the entire time.

He says the extra preparation will help he never says it's the deciding factor or choses a team.

Cycle back on the Liverpool board to around november... you will find plenty on there until the world cup started.

So why does Neville think that having extra preparation time to settle players in will give the advantage to United, if he thinks you have a better team regardless?

We’re hearing exactly the same thing as you, except that we’re hearing it from two pundits on the same show, while you’re only hearing it from one, and choosing to be offended by it.

Well even if he did, what exactly would be your big issue with that ?
United have been p!$$ poor with the easiest start to a season they could have wished for, so why exactly would anyone be lauding the virtues of United, and talking them up ?
Because you have Di Maria and Falcao ?
This is the real world, not FiFA 15.
Carragher has a point of view, and shock horror, some United fans don't agree with.
As for 41 games, lets see United challenge for the title if its so flucking simple as having less games to play.

I don’t think it did play much part. I think it played a part in getting us to second, but who was going to edge us out of fourth? We were demonstrably better than Everton, Spurs or United last season., and Everton came closest, 12 points behind us.

United only lost one game immediately after a CL match, and that was City away, which I suspect you’d have lost anyway, under Moyes. So it only cost you 3 points, but for some reason, it would have cost us 12+ points (?).

It's not even close. At the time of them playing they were rated as such but somehow after Scholes retired, history was re-written and he became the best English player ever in the opinion of many. Their individual honours when they played, clear that up though and leave it in no doubt to the non-bias of us.

wtf are you on?

I'm challenging his view on a footy forum, surly thats what this place is made for.

The shock horror part is that he thinks a terrible team, without any world class players like Liverpool have a better team than United.

Liverpool proven nothing, it was one season.

United have one the title with a less talented squad than they have now only 2 seasons ago. (Liverpool fan logic will now make you think I'm claiming United will win the title.)

Analyse the games United have played already just don't throw out numbers.

The first 3 games we played with pretty much the same team as last season maybe even weaker seeing as Carrick was injured and Vidic and Evra have moved on.

So to conclude weaker team than last season.

As soon as the signings start playing we start scoring, it's fair to say our forward line has gelled quite well so far.

Defensive errors cost us against leicester, a freak result which won't happen again.

Wow.

Then they wonder why slippers are called deluded.

Scholes >>>> lampard >>>> Slippy

Individual stats it's a team game

Again scholes and lampard = premiership
Gerrard = slip up
