It's PLG all over again, to be honest

Well be fine

Not many calling for him to be sacked.

Many like me want him to succeed but as things stand wouldn't be bothered if he went.

The great Murney filterer mentioned PLG. He tried to completely change the culture at Rangers. He was a successful manager beforehand but the players and fans revolted and ultimately their culture never changed.

In 10 years I'd hate to look back and think what an opportunity we had. Right now if (yes if) we win our game in hand we are 3 points off the top. Who can confidently say that Hamilton or whoever can and will maintain current form all season. The past few season we would have won the league comfortably with two thirds of the points available. We are sitting about that just now

Deila was a gamble; so was Rodgers at Liverpool; or Klopp at Dortmund.

Really? Rodgers and Klopp learned their trade in way better leagues.

If you are comparing the Norwegian league to the leagues they learned their trade in then you need to have a wee word with yourself

Rodgers' history is obvious but I think Klopp took some team into the Bundesliga for their first time (IIRC). Had plaudits from several established managers in that league with regard to the football he set out to play.

There really is no comparison.

From the man(?) who lives his everyday life by what happens at Rangers

Too funny

He should stop worrying about Irn Bru and chips and start thinking more about the quality of football we're being subjected to.

Plg's success at Lyon was or is a complete myth. Have a look at how their club structure is set up and how they go about making decisions PLG was lyons coach nothing more nothing less. When the time came for him to take on a managers role he flopped. Obviously the players let him down as well but he takes a big slice of the failings as well.

Faithful through and through? Or prepared to see the Club plod along with a system that is incompatible with our financial predicament.
------

I support the club maximising its resources.

I dont think Ronny is the right man to lead that change. Blokes all talk imo.

"What are the other options? Sack Deila and get an archaic pragmatist who won't upset lazy players."

Why is the only option an "archaic pragmatist"?
Giving him more time is a gamble, and on seeing how bad the football has been so far, i'm not sure it's worth it.

Complete and utter rubbish...except for the bit about the Rangers players letting him down.

Has anyone actually watched us these last few weeks the football is worse than anything that has been served up in years. Genuinely cant remember it being this bad.

When PLG was Rangers Manager - we played better in the bigger games and had some dreadful results against 'smaller' teams.

We did better in European games too.

It's almost as if the players upped thier game a bit to save thier own necks in the bigger games but were in a fookin huff against smaller teams.

I can see some parallels here.

Celtic murder a high flying Hearts, get a decent result or two in Europe and are pash against the rest.

History repeating?

Debear nobody we have been up against maybe legis apart have been a decent team. Some Zagreb players stood out but I was seriously disappointed by Salzburg.

FFS, heads in the sand time! If it wasn't for Gordon you would've got belted the other night by Zagreb. Maribor were technically a mile ahead as were Salzburg!

Like I said - only some parallels.

More a feeling - from my point of view if he succeeds and transforms the culture then others will follow suit.

There is a chance here to improve the game holistically.

We had the chance with PLG - unfortunately he signed too many duds (Papac and Clement being the exception)

Add in the 'revolt' and it was doomed.

A fookin shame but hey ho, that's the gamble.

I wonder if Ronny will get the time. Footy fans aren't renowned for thier patience.
