This weeks fixture will be the second of CSKA's 3 matches they have to play behind closed doors. It will also be City's second successive CL game without a crowd.

Barf united have had as many empty seats against Debrecen in the champions league.
I think it's great. On the one hand everyone is up in arms over the ridiculous cost of football but then when City do this it's supposed to be embarrassing?
Fair play to them I say, it would be good to see more clubs offer similar sorts of things.

Nothing embarrassing here OP. City fan base is much smaller and generally less affluent than the United fan base so it's good to see the club helping out fans financially. They've had difficulty filling CL games for this very reason so obviously the owners want tondo whatever they can to fill the empty seats. Anything to improve the atmosphere.
No club fills its ground for every game, cup games being a particular strain on supporter finances. I went to watch United v Newcastle in the league cup a couple of seasons ago and there was probably more than 20,000 unfilled seats, so even the best support can find stumping up for extra less appealing fixtures tough.
I hope plenty more clubs embarrass themselves as City have done.
Checked and there was 46,358. Closer to 30,000 empty seats.
