Key passes then.
So the fact that he will have won the Ballon d'Or (based on your assumption) two years running is the reason why he should be considered the greatest of all time over someone who has once won it four years running?
You argument has no logic.
By the way I have no real preference over either I have an appreciation of both. I just can't stand ridiculous articles suggesting that one is unquestionably better than the other.

Let’s be honest. Despite all his talents, Ronaldo is a d 1ck.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And there is the reason people rate Messi higher than Ronaldo.
You may see his brovado on a football pitch, but have you ever heard him make a díck move off the pitch?
By all accounts he does more charity work than your average footballer and is a good family man.
Goals are just as skewed as assists are. An assist like Jay Rodriguez's is so much more impressive than a penalty, or a tap in.

Yeah, lets not even bother playing football matches. Fúck competition and rivalry because at the end of the day its the taking part that counts and football should be the only true winner
to Blarmy for massively missing the point
IAOG has a point on Ronaldo areas for improvement. But because he scores so many those areas are over looked. Every one says Ronaldo is complete. But Messi is just as complete. His vision is extraordinary. Both have Different skill sets but I think people just put down Messi because of getting bored of seeing him clean the ballon d'ors, and want a fresh face.

I'm not so sure that's the case, Messi has been nullified at times in the last couple of years, and usually in the bigger games.
Before that it was the other way around and Ronaldo could be snuffed out at times, not he seems unstoppable.
The goal he scored yesterday is the sort of thing not many in the would would even get on the end of, never mind manage to score from it. It was a lovely pass from Rodriguez put the pace and how quickly he got his shot away was made to look easy.

Apologies as I was being flippant.
Would appear that those wishing to squabble will use any crumb of data to back up their opinion, when in reality neither ‘camp’ are prepared to just enjoy the abilities of both players and leave it at that.

I hate comments like this, I often feel there is a lot of lazy criticism around the likes of Ronaldo/Messi/Suarez etc about them not being able to perform in the big games when there has literally been heaps of examples to prove them wrong. Also within the last week, I have seen Ronaldo do things that no-one else can do, I have also seen Messi do things that no-one else can do.
Ronaldo is probably in the better form and the better player at the moment, but Messi will probably have the better career.

I don't know about that...They're both going to finish their careers with multiple champions leagues, multiple league titles and various other cups. Talking about one extra league title or whatever over their careers is pretty irrelevant imo

Vengaboys, re areas of skill, exactly. People all too often talk about 'completeness' leaving key footballing aspects out of the equation.
As I said in one of my earlier posts, the fact that Ronaldo seems to get better year after year belies the notion that there's no room left for improvement, since people have been saying it for a long time and he himself keeps proving them wrong.
Madrid's the best environment for a player of Ronaldo's character, because nowhere will you find a crowd that is so ridiculously demanding of its top stars.
Would u say he still isnt as loved as, say, zizou or raul were ioag?
I'd say he's overtaken them both tbh.
