Did Suarez make BR manager of the year or..

Lambert has looked good considering his limitations (age, time played, the fact that he was never meant to be a first XI 20 goals a season striker) If he becomes ineffectual after coming off the bench or starting, then I'll say
-------------------------------
You really think he's been good though? Honestly?

I know expectations were low for him, but he hasn't impressed Rodgers enough to start him over a quite abysmal Balotelli, and in his brief appearances so far, he hasn't created or scored anything. As a striker that's pretty ineffectual

Robbing Hoody, I know you're getting excited with your exclamation points over there, but try to relax.

I didn't have to stream it. I get every game on tv
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I be interested to know how you get that tbh. Why do you watch us so much?

OP DID YOU READ THE LINK TO THE GUARDIAN ARTICLE I POSTED ABOVE?????

The article where the player you're asking about talks specifically about the subject you're asking about?

I mean seriously, if you're going to ask this question do you not think it would make sense to actually read what the man himself has had to say????

yeah that's a valid point but also I could argue that I watched him more closely then you did and saw the positives while you probably really saw the negatives as you don't like Liverpool.

Anyway what I saw looked good, like I said he wasn't great but little things stood out, particularly him constantly showing for the ball even in tight spaces, he was happy to get it and give it quick even with players close to him, that for me is an excellent sign he can be a very good player.

That and the stuff I read by German writers about him
------------------------------
Fair enough, I haven't read up on his past but heard good things (coming from the Liverpool board though )

I was under the impression he was a physical presence and a good tackler when he came, and didn't notice that in the couple games I've seen him in. He's still very young though

I think he will eventually play a deeper role for us as he has the physicality to play there, but at the moment he needs time on the pitch to help him adapt.

He's the player I'm most excited about to be honest but he's yet to stand out like the rest of the signings, none have really stood out but it's early days yet.

I don't really care what Suarez has to say, i'm asking the fans about their own opinions?

I don't live in England anymore and Sky doesn't have a monopoly over the sports channels in the rest of the world. I can simply pay for a package that lets me watch all the games.

I've seen a fair bit of Liverpool this season. I like watching football in general so if there's a game on and United aren't playing, I'll probably try to watch it. Liverpool are also a bit interesting this season because you overachieved last year so I've been curious to see what your team looks like without your talisman. Plus Hull have Ben Arfa, Hernandez, Huddlestone, and Diame these days so they're a decent side to watch. It was either that or Arsenal Sunderland for me on Saturday.

Our whole team hasn't been impressive. So why on earth would our new signings be? Sure you could argue the team isn't performing because of the new signings, but I'd say it's more to do with abysmal defending from set-pieces and the lack of 50 goals a season upfront
----------------------------------------
I didn't even read the rest of your comment, but you just agreed with me here. All I'm saying is they haven't been impressive so far. That's it.

Lack of 50 goals a season up front? Hmm didn't you sign 2 strikers? And abysmal defending? Didn't you sign a first team CB and 2 fullbacks?

Lets keep it simple iCraft. You just agreed with my original statement so I'm not sure what you're laughing at or trying to prove now
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Actually no. Technically, your original point is that Rodgers is 'pretty facking useless at transfers' Which I don't agree with. Your arguement for this is that 'they haven't been impressive', to which I argued 'Not. One. Player. Has' (although I would say there have a been a few players that have impressed me this season, it's just they have equally unimpressed at times as well i.e Moreno)

And back to the ST point. Like I said, Balo was always going to be hit and miss. And Lambert wasn't brought in as a replacement for anyone, he was brought in as a plan b. Everytime he's come, he's improved our play, we've looked more fluid and he's nearly assited about 5 goals (if not for other players missing their chances) You're setting him up to fail if you think Rickie was gonna come in a smash in the goals. He's not even that kind of player, he lets other people play, hence why we play better and the should-be-assists.

Sounds like keeping it simple is your sort of thing anyway. And explaining the joke makes it less funny.

He reminds me of Yaya Toure a bit. He's tall, strong, surprisingly quick, and his dribbling is actually pretty good. Think he would be wasted sitting deep for us.

'.......and he's nearly assited about 5 goals ....'

Funniest quote I've heard in a long time

Why are you acting all high and mighty for no reason? To be honest, I don't care for this anymore. Your signings have been unimpressive SO FAR. Telling me "Balo was always going to be hit and miss" doesn't make it any different. Rickie Lambert can't even start over the most underperforming striker in the league at the moment as well

I'm with you Isle, some, not all, LFC fans are very touchy about anyone questioning the team or Mr Rodgers.
Ps, their new signings have been poor so far.

RAP get out of here

Rooney has more goals and assists than Sturridge, Balotelli, Lambert, Lallana, and Coutinho combined this season. And that's while kicking Downing and sitting in the crowd for our past 2 and a half games

Thank you AFC, I don't see the problem with calling things as I see them. They've been unimpressive.

If anyone wants to say the same of certain United players this season I wont go saying things like "almost had 5 assists" or "he plays well when he's not in a United shirt"

Suarez was arguably better the previous season and we finished much lower

So I'd say changes Rodgers made had the bigger impact

We're level on points with Arsenal and above United. Can't wait until our new signings turn up
-----------------------------------------------------------
Same can be said about us too, we're above you lot and we havent turned up at all this season, i think i can say the same about Man U too.

Not acting high and mighty. When you say 'let's keep it simple' and expect me not too comment,it's not going to end well. And plus, that whole undertone where you address me by my username deserves some reprisal.

So, supposed 'Isle of Manc', may I just say, Lambert doesn't start because he isn't suited to the way we want to play to an extent. We want mobile forwards in the Sturridge/Suarez mold (and Balotelli if he played like he's meant to) Lambert will always be a plan B. If we need someone to hold the ball up, or bring more strength into the team, or offer more aerially, then we bring him in.

Balotelli suits our philosophy more (not that you could tell) So he's always going to start ahead of him. If Borini wasn't such a let down he would play as well, he does suit our philosophy.
