I'm sure we won't go down, Benny. Even after yesterday's performance I'm convinced that in Neil Lennon and his backroom team we have finally got people who will take this team by the scruff of the neck and force the best from them. He is still in the early stages of assessing the players he has inherited.
He's an ambitious manager who won't tolerate players underperforming ( could you imagine Freedman subbing the captain at half time?).
Last night we were second best to a decent Norwich side on their own patch.
We'll be out of the bottom three when November is through, I reckon we'll finish just below half way.
Next season we push on.
COYWM!!

Benny, it's too early to predict gloom and doom. We have plenty of games left and I see no reason why Lennon can't turn it round .

Have some faith.

This is a league that is the most unpredictable in modern times.

There's always a couple of clubs who pull away from the bottom. It's the likes of the clubs in the middle who should be scared. One bad run in the mid to late season and they get suckered into the relegation depths.

Get the striking positions right and we'll shoot up the league on a good run.

Christ! Didnt take long for negativity to set back in

I think we'll be OK.

We lack quality but we've already seen a huge improvement in both attitude and performance from the players plus a much better atmosphere and better support from the fans.

There's a lot for Neil and his team to do of course but we have the quality to get away from the bottom three this term. In January and Summer Neil can start to rebuild this team properly and maybe he will utilise the academy better than his predecessors as well. I think he will.

CLEGG, there only a small percentage of fans on the forum predicting doom and gloom. We all know Benny knows his football but he can be a little negative if things aren't going to his expectations. I'm sure he will change when Lennon gets all the squad in shape or manages to recruit some decent players.

"Get the striking positions right and we'll shoot up the league on a good run."

and that is the problem: our strikers are poor.

The rest of the team has improved but its diffcult to infuse confidence into strikers until they start scoring.

I look at the league table and it frighens me. A couple of home games coming which I think are too difficult for bolton to win and if that happens then we are further in the sticky stuff. It was bad last night sweating on Brighton losing just so we are too far adrift. Further bad news is we face a transfer embargo in January along with half of the championship for breaking ffp so lennon will probably have to work with what he has till the end of the season. Yes he has lifted the spirits around the club but he is not a miracle worker. Tough competitive dog eat dog league this. Not at all confident.

A happy whites Christmas is predicted.
No need to worry there be the core of a good side in there.

Have to agree with Carrs. We won't go down, but think the playoffs are a bit out of reach this season.

I don't believe it's going to happen. For one thing there is no way Eddie is going to walk away from 120 million quid plus by selling up for 40. It may be that he wants 40mil up front with the rest (plus a hefty chunk of interest) to be repaid over a fixed term but who'd want to do that right now anyway?

And even if Sheikh Fatwalletah DID come in and buy us what good would it really do? Under FFP we can't spend more than we're earning and we ain't earning anything at all. We're losing money hand over fist.

There are ways around FFP. Clubs such as City show that sponsorship of certain things can create false revenue.
