Would you have taken a point from the game beforehand?

I certainly would have, Soton are full of confidence, Villa not so much, so I feel its a great point no matter how badly Soton played (never watched)

In fact imo its a bloody good point considering where they are in the league and where Villa are

There ought to have been an investigation in the fixture list so far this season.

No wonder Southampton have done so well; played 12 games and only 1 of them was against any of last seasons top six.

Villa had a great start to the season and then hit a wall of lousy fixtures. Had they had the same easy easy run that Southampton have had.. they could be comfortably in the top half and the Saints about 17th!

Watch out for more fixing of the same kind next season. (Assuming both teams are in the PL next season....)

We seem to have been let off the leash against Burnley. Good attacking stuff for most of the time, 53% of the play, 18 shots and 7 on target, as against their 11 shots and 4 on target. Cole appears to have been great and his goal was deserved. We were undone by a poor foul by Okore, but he did fine apart from that so we'll let him off.

BUT WHY WON'T OUR FORWARDS SCORE GOALS????? We should have been out of sight. If Gabby and Andi weren't so dismal we'd probably be sitting on 18 points by now, not a measly 13. It's hugely frustrating for everybody; fans, team, manager.

But at least on this occasion we produced the right sort of stuff. Got pegged back towards the end, but it happens if your forwards aren't doing it. Hope we keep playing this way; against the teams we've got coming up there's no excuse not to.

definately need a CF in Jan, should just release Bent now, clearly not rated by Lambert, and couldnt blame him for getting rid. free up a good wage for someone to come in - No Benteke = No Goals

Okore is a big plus for me, hopefully he can now settle in, especially if Vlaar leaves in Jan.

IMO any point atm is a good point even against Burnley ( no disrespect to Burnley)
