Got told by a very good source yesterday, there's a few of the senior players not happy with some of the additions this season. But Steve Mac hopes to sort it out very soon. So I'm not going to say a lot more on the matter, just that there's trouble behind the scenes.

theres some dark forces at work and they aren't all connected to the playing staff....

We always want better, like BC said he would replace Roy Mac like a shot if he could find anyone better. Bucko is no Roy Mac but he's a solid defender with a bit of presence and we need that sort in the side. It depends as always who is available and when. I would be doubtful if we can get much better than Bucko at this stage of the season and I would have him ahead of Shotton any day of the week.

Wassa don't be so cryptic with your "trouble behind the scenes" comment. We haven't exactly got many senior players so I'm guessing you're talking about Keogh and Buxton and maybe Martin? What do you mean by saying SM will sort it? Incoming sor outgoings?

from what I know...the last senior player to cause trouble was Shackell.....and a nasty piece of work he was. I don't know of any issue with the playing or coaching staff...I know there are some agents causing issues and I don't mean agents links to players....

Vidal, there's been issues between Buxton and Shotton that's all I'm going to say.

no issues between them shotton and buxton...that I'm aware of

Sorry to see Jake out of the picture so much this season, for whatever reason.
Think we miss his solidity in defence, but also his passing out from the back. This is even more evident when we have the Eust as DM, as that's not his strong point.
Jake's in my starting 11 every time, when fit etc.

I'd say Buxton is our best central defender.

Then Shotton, then Whitbread, then O'Brien, then MacFarland, then perhaps Keogh.

Even still, we should always want better...

Bucko was injured early season. Made it worse by keeping playing. He did not want to give up his place in the side. Its been stop/ start with him this season with the 2 sending offs as well. Ive no doubt that Bucko is a fighter and will do everything in his power to get his place back. Hes worked very hard to live the dream. Once he is in he will stay in.

Do we want better than Bucko at Derby? Yes.
Do we have better than Bucko at Derby? No.

Not sure why Bucko hasn't featured more - injuries and ridiculous sending offs due to referee cowardice in the face of imperialist arrogance, aside.

I think SM thinks Bucko maybe doesn't have the potential for the Prem, but he kept Keane on the bench, has looked more solid than Shottton and Whitbread and shown more leadership.

We keep writing him off, he keeps proving us wrong, we bemoan his lack of pace but not many players get past him, maybe in part to our not so high line. In a perfect world I'd like to see another Mark Wright-esque chap come in but who's to say Bucko wouldn't keep him on the bench too? John Terry is doing alright and he's slow and unlike Bucko he's a grade 1 tw.t also.

Think you stuck up for your mate well there Griff.

As far as squabbling amongst seniors, I can see Bryson having a moan about Hughes but don't think he's shown the form to justify this, maybe Keogh thinks Christie lacks defensive solidity, the wingers possibly not too fussed about Ibe pre Saturday, think Johnny Russell showed them how to answer that, Martin must be loving Best as his only competition and can see Eustace not happy about Oscar but if he'd offered more earlier in the season, then Oscar would have had to take Hughes, Hendrick or Byson out of the team.

Reckon Buxton has been a little over looked but don't think anyone else can complain really. However, if football didn't have this ridiculously old fashioned 'manager' hierarchy a lot of these ego conflicts could be dealt with at source.

Jake's passion carries him through. He's had two ridiculous red cards this season and some injury. We need him and if there was better available we should take it. I think 2 Wellies has summed up the situation perfectly.

Not only should Bucko be playing, he should be made captain and leader.

Formerly one of Buxton's biggest critics, I watch him like a hawk when he plays. And since the arrival of McLaren, I genuinely cannot remember any mistake from Buxton. All the other CH's are prone. So Buxton in!

Hear hear to the last several posts, Bucko should be in front of Shotton and for me should be a regular as well as Will Hughes.

One thing puzzles me is how Eustace can get injured while not playing, then comes back, plays well and lasts the whole match. It's a miracle!

Does anybody know when Thorne is scheduled to play again?

Can't be doing with any of this "I got told" bollox. There will always be some unhappy people at every club, normally those not getting played regularly.

Who are the additions this year? Ibe, done well. Christie, done well. Shotton, done okay. Best, hardly played so could be whinging. Let him leave January when we sign a new striker.

I'm more concerned by the ones who haven't rediscovered their form of last season. Bryson especially.

As for Bucko, he's a good championship player but he is desperately slow. He's nowhere near premiership standard but I'd pick him above Shotton at the moment.

At least we aren't Forest. 3 down at half time. 😂

My lad had his picture taken with Thorne at the Norwich game and he was very careful not to say when he will be back.

With Bucko you would definitely want him for you than against you and if we had to have gone up last season he would have been given his chance, the flip side is that if we do manage this season he be no more than a bit part player to cover injury/suspension I feel.

As for the rest of this season if he doesn't buck up his disciplinary record he may find himself giving Steve one less selection headache on match day.
