Not a hope will Steve leave for Newcastle, a club who hava a fan base who are desperate for success and who don't take long to vent their feelings when it isn't coming.
Throw into the appropriate loony toony chairman in ?Ashby and Steve would be pulling out the already thinning tuft in no time.
I do believe he won't leave us until the first job is done at least.
Strong rumour that Sherwood would be the man lined up for the toon.
Sherwood. Has he finished his coaching badges yet?
McClaren will be gone at the first decent opportunity but it will soon become apparently that at the top level he is was he's always been
A good number 2!
Can't beat a good no 2.
Now you stop talking something similar and feck off as a village has lost its idiot.
I don't get why pardew would leave Newcastle to go to crystal palace, especially as he is on that giant contract.
Do you think Stuart Pearce could be tempted by the Palace job?
Would be very surprised if Steve left, he's got the sort of set up at derby that most managers would dream of. Good chance of premiership football next season anyway, so other than purely for money ( a big draw I know, but I doubt that is his main motivation), why go?
Harper: I've discussed this with one or two mates, and , Souness also mentioned it: perhaps he's fed up with the stick he got from the Toon army in recent months..though I personally don't believe that's reason enough to walk. Regardless of lack of Trophys, Newcastle are a huge club, he should stick it out in my opinion.

If pardew goes to Palace it is the biggest indication yet that Mike Adhley is pulling out soon.
I think McClaren may have been tempted had Ashley not been on his way out but a cloud of uncertainty hangs over Newcastle.
I would be amazed if he left Derby for premier league relegation fodder though.
Trouble is he is on a lot of chairmans radars now with what he has done with us.
Not a chance will Steve leave us for that merry go round in the premier league.
As has been said, he's got a brilliant job with us, a great relationship with the board and chief exec and the fans love him. As a manager, the most important thing is the relationship with his chief exec, it HAS to work in order for the team to succeed. Also our chief scout chris Evans, another very important position at a football club...so for Steve to have them two alongside him pulling the strings he has everything's manager needs in order to do the job properly.
Add to that the players he has to work with every single day on the training ground, he must love it here. Then obviously he has us the fans!
It's all rosy and has gone brilliant so far for him, and that's obvious when we are doing well. The tough time will be when we reach the Premier league, it's a circus!
After all of that, why would he want to leave his position that managers dream of, to join a team struggling and cut throat chairmans!!
Sheepy is spot on, with all running as well as it is & with everything in place that Steve could possibly demand, I can only see him considering leaving for a Champions League contender, not for a mid-lower Premier League club - he'll have that with us before long.
The speculation may well work in our favour. If stevie is courted by a few Premiership clubs, just before the window opens, surely he will be in a position of strength when he goes to the board for that new centre back and striker we need.
It can all change in a blink but...

Think the more important speculation is about Will Hughes going to Liverpool.
I hope you are wrong Spart. The team is much better when Will plays, it is a pleasure to watch him pass and receive the ball.
He can become a Rams legend.
Is this the Liverpool who's season is imploding?
Yes Moj, Rodgers needs to be seen doing something which is why the rumour is quite strong. If they offer obscene amounts of money then maybe Schteve can make us into a better side but I would be sorry to see Will leave. He had been showing year on year improvement but his progress has stuttered a bit this season. Hopefully a stellar performance tomorrow to make up for his none show at Elland Road.
Maybe Will could do a Darlow/Lascelles?
How do you mean View? Don'f think Will wants to let in loads of goals or get arrested.
You know, get loaned back to Derby, know his allegiance lies elsewhere, play c rap and jump ship from a club in turmoil at the end of the season......
Or get arrested, let in loads of goals AND play c rap Spart
I think we'd be naive to think McClaren wouldn't be swayed by the bright lights of the prem, but not for the likes of Leicester, QPR, Palace etc..... Newcastle would be difficult for him to turn down.
I'd let Will go for 15mill and Ibe thrown in as a sweetener. It's good for the likes of Will to develop his skills at a smaller less ambitious club!
I hope they don't come after him then Tommo....
I'll be watching Liverpool this evening. I like Rodgers as a manager, but I think their golden chance went a-begging last year. Replacing Suarez, as insidious a little man as he was, with Balotelli is no replacement at all.
And Gerrard can come and do a Dave McKay for us.
