This is another example of clear corruption in a multi billion pound industry and worthy of investigation.
The rules are currently a joke. Rather than admitting that their officials make mistakes the FA compound the mistakes by saying they can't take action as it was dealt with at the time.
Benteke got sent off against us for the same thing. Sterling gets off because the official doesn't do his job probably. Ridiculous.
Probably the same reason that Rio Ferdinand didn't even get a mention after attacking Giroud

The true sequence of events were as follows: as the two players approached the corner flag, Raheem landed the first blow on the other player's back which propelled him forward. Once the ball was out of play the other player playfully clipped Raheem on the back of the head to which he received what could only be described as a open handed slap on his face.

Its the stupid rules that are at fault. Along with incompetent/idiotic/biased/corrupt officials. And Raheem Sterling for the actual deed.
The world and his wife knows what Sterling did and that he should be punished. Its feckin stupid that nothing will be done now, unless the lino is happy to drop himself in the brown stuff and find himself dropped/sacked.
Ironically, the lino probably didn't see the tap on the head by the Swansea player that led to Sterlings violent conduct. So in theory Swansea could have a second player banned whilst a clearly guilty Sterling is free to continue playing.
It would be interesting to read a refs report on the decision not to take any action at the time.
