It isn't a coincidence. When small teams play big sides they up their game, the crowds are full and they are difficult to play against.

It's not great, but you are forgetting players like Herrera, Blackett, McNair, Falcao and other wont be used to games like this.

I'll give you Blackett and McNair, but if you have a £30m midfielder and a £40-50m striker you would expect them to shine against such opposition, however up and at 'em they are in their style of play.

Admittedly, i am not LVG's biggest fan but even his most ardent supporter must been befuddled many a time this season at LVG's subs and formations.

Fletcher isnt doing enough imo. He isnt dropping deep to pick up the ball from the defenders and he isnt getting involving enough when attacking. He is a midfielder, he needs to get involved more
