Yeah Tbf falcao can't win today. If he doesn't score he'll get slated. If he does score then it's only Yeovil
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Why not let him score the bags first? A player is presented to us as World Class and all of a sudden having some limited expectations from him leads to overly defensive statements like this.

If he was playing well, there wont be any criticism, in fact they would be asking why he is not being rested.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I have high expectations of him. He is slowly but surely getting better. We create feck all chances to be fair. Falcao can't do it all on his own. His movement in the box is superb, perhaps our midfielders could start creating a bit more first before criticising our strikers.

By playing all 11 positions? He was not close to the worst 5-6 players on that pitch against the Dons (thats not much a defence of his abilities though). Evans looked horrid and still plays regularly.

I hate this formation with a passion. It just looks so easy to play against, there's a reason hardly anyone uses it!
_______________

How ironic. It may not be pretty but the reason LVG uses it is precisely because it is hard to play against and we have deficiencies at the back for which we need to somehow compensate.

We are unbeaten in 10 games...How can it be easy to play against?

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Using this formation we are forced to resort to hoofball. We create about 2 chances per game...

posted on 4/1/15

No, the fact our CBs are poor on the ball sees us resort to hoof ball.

posted on 4/1/15

352 formation is a problem IMo especially when teams press. Playing with 3 CBs and 2 strikers means the midfield is always out numbered. Mata and rooney can make things happen when the opposition is sitting deep and allowing them time on the ball but when they press we cannot create anything through the middle, Teams only attacking outlet is the wingbacks

Teams will watch spurs second half and Southampton match and press more when they face united in the second half of the season. We will probably see more poor performances unless LVG revert back to playing with flat back 4 imo

posted on 4/1/15

I hope Blackett plays well in the left CB role today, he started off well and looks more comfortable when he finds himself out wide than Evans does.

If we got Blind/Herrera/Di Maria/Fellaini/Mata and maybe a new CM in January fit and competing for the midfield positions I would like to see Smalling, Carrick and Rojo as the 3 CB's if we continue with this formation.

No one is knocking him for not converting chances, he is being criticized for not doing the minimum expected i.e. hold up, etc.

btw you know world class players can created their own chances from time to time.

Falcao needs minutes to get sharp. So does fletch and i would say wilson too

Rooney was hardly ever rested. He seems to need games to stay fit and sharp. Also gets sent away to recuperate when injured. that isnt a criticism its just how some people are.

Yes they do when they are fully fit for a start. He unfortunately has had niggling injuries and is playing in a brand new league. A league that is renowned for being tough.
I didn't see suarez, ronaldo, Henry etc creating and scoring things out the blue game in hand out when they first joined

Even against Yeovil I'm worried about fletcher starting. Hopefully Herrera and Rooney can carry him.

Falcao may well fail in the epl but the current criticism of him is well unfair imo.

Same with fletch tbh. Who was never WC but did a job

Coming back from illness and injury and pressure to perform are hard

I had a game on fifa 15 and yeovil are a great side. Would be lucky to win this, I reckon Yeovil 2-3 Man utd.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Hmm... No one was calling them World class when they first joined either. They gradually developed their reputation. Well this fella joined with a stonking reputation which he has not come close to replicating. This game may actually be worrisome for him because it is possible Wilson could outshine him today and may raise reasonable questions about his starting for us.

But then we can say it is just Yeovil though.

Lets watch and see how it turns out.

posted on 4/1/15

I'm not sure what falcao can be criticised for exactly. Ok he has missed a few chances but every striker does. I think he has done ok so far and steadily got better. If he avoids further injury I fancy him to have a strong second half of the season (as long as we can keep our strongest side fit)
