I think England have a decent odi bolwing attack. They are probably alot fresher than most in world cricket as they have had a decent rest.
As far as india is concerned, they picked their squad based on how players have done in the past 2 years. which is fair enough.
Although I still think our opening batsmen are going to struggle. In fact they have struggled alot in NZ and SA in the odis, although they have been backed by the team for 2 years, they might turn to be a liability.
Murali could have been selected but he has not played odis since ages. so dont think they would want to try out that. and also this is probably the best 15 in the country, so if they fail then cant blame anyone really.
Viru you not worried about burn out for India? They will be in OZ/NZ for 4 months if they get to the final. Long time away from home.
Yes I already mentioned that long time ago. The scheduling was really poor. and the worse thing is India decided to rest ishant in this test even when he is not our first choice odi bowler. should have rested shami cause he has played so much cricket in the past 1 year and he is india's best odi bowler.
im not sure how indian players manage to do this. the worse thing is if they reach the finals then a fews weeks after they will go to ipl. Playing way too much cricket.
Like I predicted... Bell and Bopara though dropped in the sri-lanka series would be in the 15 man squad.
Tredwell as done well for England.. But he will be cannon fodder on Aussie wickets.. Moeen Ali will end up being the better spinner.
I would have taken Bresnan to be a 4th seamer.
Big series for Finn.. Make or break for me..
England have no chance of winning the world cup..They may win some games. But that's about it.
If the wickets are anything like the test match wickets.. I feel sorry for the bowlers. The margin for error will be non existant.
Spin bowlers wont do very well at all. Not now they have clamped down on bent arm doosra's..
But I could be wrong
Terrible squad picked by Pak
They bring in 3 players who have not featured at all in the last few years in Sohail Khan (30 year old), Ehsan Adil and Yasir Shah. Not too disappointed with Yasir but that is a poor squad.
Pretty much what was expected for India in the 15 although I would have taken Yuvraj over Binny because he's come back into some good for Punjab recently and the man is quite simply a match winner on his day with the experience of having done it all.
Who is Pakistans ODI captain Kash?
Kav, its Misbah. He's no Imran Khan I tell you.
You must have a great side if you can leave Yuvraj at home. He was the man for the big occasions.
Oh yeah completely forgot about him. It is impressive how he keeps going although I bet he has his critics. The cancer treatment took a lot out of Yuvraj I believe and he never returned the same player although age probably had a big part to play in his demise as well. A genuinely top class ODI player and a legend for his part in two world cup wins.
Would liked to have seen Yuvi play. Just scored 3 back to back hundreds..and would have thought he warranted a spot.
Didn't India lose World T20 final to SL in Apr 2014 primarily due to Yuvraj's inability to speed up scoring and not allowing other capable batsmen to contribute?
http://www.espncricinfo.com/world-t20/engine/match/682965.html
That game was a combination of poor batting throughout the top order but yes Yuvraj was woefully out of form and had a shocking game - failed to score or rotate the strike. However that doesn't take away from his brilliance in both the 2007 T20 World Cup where he smashed Broad all over the park and single-handedly took apart Australia in the semis and the 2011 where he was man of the tournament with some brilliant performances. A legend of Indian cricket
I was, of course, talking about his recent form and not his past brilliance. He is certainly one of the greatest batsmen in the shorter forms of cricket.
I agree but the surprising thing is he has recently shown great glimpses of form with Punjab and we all know what a gifted player he is. Compare this to Stuart Binny who makes the cut because his father was a decent player back in the day and now works for the BCCI but lacks any sort of real talent yet Yuvraj gets left out. However being a Punjab man he's made of strong stuff and I'm sure will show the national team what they're missing out on.
my2c, who do you support internationally?
Yuvi did have a shocker in the T20 final. I guess Binny gets in cos he is a seaming all rounder. I don't think India have many of them.
Looking at the squad you have to rank them:
1) India
2) Eng
3) Pak
The only issue for India is burnout. England stopped the Ashes before world cups because supposedly by the time world cup came they were tired. India have taken that slot.
the thing is binny has barely played for india, and when he has he was either poorly used or he failed miserably. So not sure why he is in the team. would be very suprised if binny was in the playing 11. every batsman will look to target him, so it can be a very big risk imo.
With India i think dhoni did a masterstroke. he retired at the right time. so im sure he would be alot fresher. im worried about kohli, rahane dhawan and rohit and our pacers who have pretty much been bowled to ground this series. Will they have the same sort of hunger come one months time? and then there is another 6 weeks.
I think India really need to be careful of how they use their pacers from here onwards. i would even say dont really bother going for the win in the triseries. just take it as a light warmup.
Why isn't South Africa team up on the thread? Sick of seeing Pakistan and India related comments and articles on here.. Don't you people work?
has the SA team even been announced yet?

That's a decent enough pak squad kash.. It's the best we have got, so happy with that. Not sure of YK selection though
A14, how was Pak?
The problem with this squad is who will be the 5th bowler? It seems once again we will rely on part timers to fulfil 10 overs but if one of the main bowlers has a off day then we are snookered.
YK should never be in squad.
Two and abit weeks was more than enough. Didn't particularly enjoy it was weather was too good and I went on my own... Good to see family and surroundings nevertheless...
Yeah, the 5th bowler issue remains...
Kash, bluebell blocked me
he filtered me too. The guy is a loon and keeps contradicting himself.
