I don't get religious extremism, I don't get terrorism, but I also don't get why anyone would provoke in such a way.

It's freedom of speech. Did they call Islam wrong? No.

Freedom of speech is such a poor excuse to deliberately provoke a dangerous section of the world.

Then they should learn to accept freedom of speech and respect it rather than shooting people.

This just makes the situation worse for them.

How about respecting their beliefs, instead of mocking and provoking??

The right to tell 'jokes', is probably a freedom in the west that people take for granted.

It's one of many connected reasons why people would prefer to live in the west rather than many other countries.

Remember read 'joke' put 'criticism of a leader', and the result is the same in some places. It's a good thing in most western countries that's not the case.

Brilliant point. Why provoke unnecessary and unwanted situations?

Respecting their belief in ethnic cleansing? In mass murder? In enslavement? What the fack?

This cartoon was directed at the leader of Isis, not Islam. Just what beliefs do Isis hold that we should be respecting?

D'jeezus Chr!st guys, we are talking about cartoons in a magazine here. Nobody is forcing these extremists to read them, or dropping these cartoons in their homes.

Everyday I see things that provoke my beliefs and values. But do I start killing those responsible for it?

We should NEVER start giving in to these monsters, not on anything. If we will do this once, there will be no going back. Once we will give them a victory like that, they WILL find other things that they find provoking and want banned. And where will it end then?

Will we stop drinking lager in our own country, because it will be offending to extremists? Will we stop smoking, or risk being flogged in our own streets? Will we dress our own daughters in burka's?

This might seem far fetched, but once we start giving in, who knows how far things will go?
