Glad you enjoyed it Fridge. If there is any part you don't quite follow, ask View.

What strikes me the most in this heartfelt plea for the common man to stand up and fight or face the consequences is not the folly and illusions that the rich torture, tease and humiliate the proleteriat with, but it is the proleteriat's willingness to be led, fed and egged by their masters. One can't help feel that had they reached out in solidarity with their neighbours instead of pledging allegiance to their benefactor they might be in a different situation.

I would love there to be a Golden Goose (4) where the people turn from their master and try and stand on their own two feet, rebuilding an anti-authoritarian, collective republic out of the shattered ruins of Kingdom, but it seems in this case the proleteriat have already allowed a process of irreversible desertification disease their minds and lands. My only hope would be that those good neighbours have the charity to welcome the exodus that will have to come and nurture them back to health with attractive football built on the backs of the sweat, blood and tears of the common fan.

Brilliant Vidal

Wellies, was that the fable response you expected?

Well the people of "Gooseland" are only fooling themselves. They're living in a dictatorship. A self perpetuating autocracy in which the working class are fobbed off with a series of increasingly shoddy eggs.

They need to form an anarcho-syndicalist commune, where someone takes it in turn to be a sort of executive officer for the week, but all the decisions of that officer have to be ratified at a special bi-weekly meeting.

Or they can get rid of the screaming dendrophile, sorry I mean "egg" and replace it with another equally useless one, and continue their slide into irrelevance.

Even inhabitants of lands far from Gooseland appreciate this fine trilogy!

Great stuff Vidal

Fridge anarcho-syndicalism with maybe a hint of libertarian communism and a gentle shake of humility and I think they might just be able to turn it around if not it feels the procession of irrelevant eggs will continue.

Iwas I was not expecting something of this brilliance, I was expecting some half cooked idea about ice and a cliff and a mother goose that could not catch, but this to me has the beginnings of the new, new testament.

We're saved there is a god, now let's crush these godless anarcho syndicalist's for their heresy

2W They will not be saved until they have completed their penance (three seasons in league one). Only then can they even hope to join their righteous neighbours in the upper divisions.

Our three prophets, plus the part timer who helps at training, will surely lead us to the promised land. As for Saturday, we will vanquish the heathens and send them back to Gooseland questioning their allegiance.

Is goose fat playing Saturday or is he still being force fed?

posted on 15/1/15

I think Foie Gras Reid was described as being "not fit" for Saturday.

I see they have succumbed to the national trend of reporting what we already know as news, rather than the actual news, which is of course that he is likely to be unavailable.

Best one yet!

What you should do is write a fable about Notts Forest next time...

posted on 15/1/15

Could never do that Marco. Would be disrespectful.

posted on 15/1/15

If you did do one about Forest, what would you call it?

posted on 15/1/15

"A Comedy of Errors", or is that one taken?

"Down."

Absolutely inspired
