Shocking assessment of our players. if they are all as bad as you make out them to be. Spurs would be all but relegated.

My assessment off you, I will give you a 2 out of 10 for putting so much effort into typing up this dreadful article.

Cannot fault your effort mate, but come on Spurs are 5th in the prem, theee points of third, through to a cup final, and still in a European competition, and yet you hardly had a good word to say about the team. Sure Spurs do not have a Messi or Ronaldo, but for the first time in ages, they are actually look like a decent TEAM.

This is more a personal assessment rather than an honest one. Everyone has a view so fair do's. Personally I think we have a fairly average squad with a few hints of greatness.

Lloris, Walker, Fazio, Vertonghen, Bentaleb, Eriksen.

Players who I'm "meh" about:
Vorm, Dier, Davies, Rose, Chadli, Stambouli, Capoue, Lamela, Soldado, Kane

Players I'd happily sell/boot out:
Kaboul, Chiriches, Mason, Paulinho, Dembele, Townsend, Adebayor

Bit harsh, this article is far better than your numerous Liverpool ones IMO.

Lol....Honest = Negative.... what a negative article.

wasn't honest at all..you forget anything good about our players.

We have captain winners of Europa league, French League, Dutch League, players with Champions league experience. Recognised English players with bright futures, Top scoring midfielder in the league. Top scoring Englishman in all comps...etc.

All this and we don't pay over 100K a week
We don't have a stadium that seats over 40K
and weldon't have Champions League football....

I really don't know what you expect...

We may not be Barcelona in your eyes but we are not as bad as you make the players out to be.

Yup.....No player is perfect...fast players usually are not strong, Defenders can't dribble. That's life. A team i combining the strengths of all the players and protecting the weaknesses. Thats the job of the manager.

I think we have a decent squad we are just 2 players away from being genuine Top 3 contenders.

Top Striker to share the load with Kane and a Top midfielder to unlock stubborn defences from deep in his half.

If we got those two players this team would raise their level a couple of notches.

Harsh on Mason, and a real case of not being able to see the wood for the trees IMO

Mason may not be world class but he has had a major impact on how we play and that should be commended in his first full season. We were slow and ponderous without him and Kane....looking at it from a team perspective instead of at an individual level, he's exactly what we need right now. He's one of those players who will rarely grab the limelight but makes a significant difference to the team.

Dembele I struggle with...the guy has all the talent in the world until he gets in a position where he can do some damage. Technically he's fantastic, but he needs to start taking the bull by the horns to show just how good he is.

Lamela I've defended for ages, having seen how good he was at Roma I always thought he would come good. Now I'm not so sure, he seems to need more time than he will get in the PL and that restricts him to flashes of brilliance mixed with running into blind alleys. I hope I'm wrong, but I'm not sure that he will prove himself in this league.

Oh, and Yedlin...from what I've seen and read he has pace to burn but is very raw. The defensive side of his game appears to be a long way from what we need, I wouldn't be surprised to see him playing on the wing instead.

I t would be good to look at the squad and identify who can improve and who looks like they are on the decline..for me that would be a better reflection of our team and Poch

Decline for me is:

Kaboul
Friedel (can we really count him as a squad member?)
Ade
Possibly Soldado

Every other player in our squad has potential to improve.

With us sitting 5 points off 3rd, Cup final and knockout of Europa league. I would say the future seems decent.

My only fear is losing Eriksen in summer. That means trying to find 3 new players not just 2.

For once it seems to me we don't have a squad that can be easily ripped apart. I don't see many decent prospects (Kane, Mason, Bentaleb, Davies, Walker, Yedlin, Dier) in our team leaving any time soon.

Theres a good spread of players in Attack, Midfield and Defence which gives our club some degree of stability in personnel.
