add to that the fact that there is no auto champ league group stages place next year its a dead rubber

winner has 1 qualifier
2nd has 2 qualifiers

in other words were out already

Coach I take it your comin from a fans viewpoint,I think we might need to worry about some of our players. Big Jela looked pretty demoralised last night,if a Prem team comes sniffin who's to say he wont get tae? The big attraction of comin here is already oot the windae

Why do you think most clubs play to half empty stadia? Why do you think teams like Dundee United have seen season tickets drop by 18% this season?

The lack of competition is killing our league. Yet nothing will ever get done about it because it would mean the Old Firm losing out which isn't an option for them.

At least we get to see FC Metalist Kaharkiv in the Europa League still. Roll on Thursday evenings.

Yeah, winners of SPL this year straight into CL groups, so SPL worth title worth min £10m this year.
Runners up get 3 quals for CL.
End of next season will be 3 quals for winner, and no place for runners up.
So, now we have a straight 8 1/2 month, drag race for the title, with few other distractions.

Yes there is, although it won't last long after last night's results.

Hardly the OFs fault your teams are uncompetitive. Ok we get a bit more TV money but that's it and it's nowhere near an amount that would make you competitive.

DC, why would any prem. team be interested in Jelly after his misses over the two legs.

Fair do's bluebird, but some of these guys were probably tempted here partly by Champions League or European football of some kind, not three weeks a season though. This is jela's second season and he's barely kicked a baw there in two years. He was by no means the only guy missin chances, and I dont think they are indictive of his top form

you get slided up the chute.

Now in no way am I saying that all the country's woes are due to the Old Firm, and I'm very much aware that we've all made decisions based on self interest, but to say that the money isn't significant is bizarre, particularly when you consider the budgets team like United and St Johnstone and the like are working on.

The difference between finishing 1st and 2nd is minimal. The difference between finishing 2nd and 3rd is staggering. We all know why that is.

You're talking like there's some kind of conspiracy. Again it's not the old firms fault hey have more money to spend. They draw bigger crowds and have wealthier owners. It's hardly a conspiracy.

In terms of TV money according to the SPL website 48% of it is distributed evenly and 52% is staggered according to league positions. So yes the OF get more than the rest because they WIN not because of who they are.

Perhaps if people from Dundee didn't get on buses to Glasgow every weekend your team would have a bigger fanbase and have a bigger spending power and would not be forced to sell your best players.

Agreed, they should always have more to spend because of their far superior fan base. I'm not claiming anything different. However, to have the prize money so blatantly weighted towards the Old Firm is not conducive to a competitive league. Surely you can accept that point?

I don't know the exact figure, but 1st and 2nd are pretty close together financially whereas 3rd gets around half of what second gets, and the rest have minor drops down to 12th. Hardly fair, is it?

I have no problem with people getting on the buses. They pay their money into Scottish football and can choose to support who they want. The ones that I have no time for are the ones who buy the replica shirts and sit in pubs across the city telling everyone who will listen how great Celtic/Rangers are when they've never been near Ibrox or Parkhead in their life and never intend to. If even half of those people occassionally went to see their local teams then we'd be far more competitive.
