Giving him CPR?
Think the league will buy that........
I think the man is in trouble this time.
It depends how much the media get hold of it and splash it around. At the moment McArthur is playing the situation down....credit to him because he acted like a gentleman
You're a bit like this board's Stringer BS.
BS
No mention of it on BBC website yet, let's see what happens over the next few hours.
I like Pearson but he can't go around doing this for no reason.
I'm guessing Lineker will have it edited out on MOTD

And you're a bit like this boards Dennis Wise
A still shot means absolutely nothing - You need the full context
I've seen the video afv and the replays. It looks worse than that!
To be fair, because it was so quick and McArthur was determined to get away before it flared up any further, I don't think anything more will be made. Credit to the player because others would have made a deal out of it

At the time it looked to me like Pearson was having a joke with him and the player didnt see the funny side towards the end and had some kind of cord caught in someone watch i think.
Not sure about the hand on the throat, but as McArthur was trying to get back onto the pitch, Pearson had a handful of his shirt and held him back. Apparently McArthur had said something which is why Pearson was glaring at him as if he was going to kill him
I think it was a joke that went wrong in the heat of the moment - Nothing to see here folks move on
I don't think so afv - Pearson has already confirmed something was said to him by the player which is he why he wouldn't let him get back onto the pitch.
....however McArthur isn't making a big deal of it which is good for us.
If this was genuine aggression, then Pearson's position is no longer tenable. This is not about failings on the pitch, this brings our club into disrepute.

One picture doesn't prove anything, but I agree. It's reminiscent of the Alan Pardew incident when he was Newcastle and he got away incredibly lightly.
Incidentally, the BBC match report describes it as "a friendly exchange" before Pearson holds his shirt before he goes back onto the pitch because the player said something. My guess would be something like: "Maybe you should have signed me after all."
Just saw it on MOTD.
Embarrassing

The BBC report is totally at odds with Pearsons account and other news sources. Nothing friendly about that exchange
I have always given NP benefit of the doubt, but his reaction at the time and during the post match interview is a disgrace.
His comment 'I can look after myself' was totally uncalled for and gives an insight to his true character.
I have no respect for any man who tries to inflict supremacy via agression.
Pearson looked like a French mine artist having a breakdown because someone threw a cupcake at him
Picture this, your the manager, your bottom of the league, having played well enough to be several points higher up the league, chances have gone beggin' again, should be in front, your feelin' a bit of pressure and frustration, suddenly you unexpectedly get clattered, you take it on the chin, but wait a minute it's the player that rejected your terms to play for you, the fuse blows, it's embarrassing maybe, but it's an unfortunate accident. The players on the pitch do it ! we call it handbags, so let's try and cool it, NP OUR manager not the oppositions manager.
If NP get's driven out of this club , who are we going to get ? Arguably the better managers are the one's above us in the league, how many of those are available and would want to come here ?
There's no point in Pearson leaving now Appleton because there's no one else out there. That's despite the fact I hold him accountable for the Stoke and Palace home defeats. He should have gone in November
That being said, it doesn't excuse his ridiculous actions yesterday which have prompted widespread condemnation on social media. The manager is supposed to be above player handbags and of course if that happened on the pitch he would have been sent off
We're essentially already down at this point, Appleton. If we can't get anything against Stoke or Palace at home, how can we possibly be expected to get anything at Arsenal, Everton or Man City away? Yesterday was last chance saloon for this side, and the result was a loss, a poor performance and thr manager getting into a scrap with a player he rejected in the summer. We might as well bring someone like Chris Powell in for the rest of the season.
