He also says that if he he wouldnt join us if he was Alfie (or wordss to that effect) when there are Championship clubs interested, but like we have said, he would only be sat on the bench as clubs like Coventry & Reading would only see him as quality back up whereas here he'd play week in week out if he kept up his scoring feats as he has done so far this season
talk about double standards or what.
they accuse us of not offering the money that they want and of coming in with low offers to unsettle the player, and dragging the whole transfer saga on.......
didnt they do exactly the same last season with ian thomas moore (i think thats his name......ronnie moores son).
it also went on and on, but they still got him.
this will probably go down to the last hour of the transfer window......whichever club he goes to will be blamed for not doing the deal earlier and not leaving enough time for RUFC to get a replacement.
so millers dont leave yourselves short and without a replacement......do a deal with whatever club ....hes only worth what a club will pay.

The bit that tickled me was the line "Our valuation of Alf has never changed"
Wasn't it only a couple of weeks ago their chairman said his thoughts on valuation changed on a daily basis....
presumably just after another improved offer came in and he thought he might be able to squeeze us for another.
This the same Alf that warmed Rotherhams bench towards the end of last season?
I'd love him to sign but if he's still with Rotherham I can see sulking again. They need to get rid and we are the only serious buyers.
Don't know if I have got this wrong but how can Coventry afford him? I thought they were being run by administrators or am I a mile off, and I know not for the first time.
If it were true ALF would have already signed for a championship club, Rotherham have an inflated price tag and everyone that's bid knows it, No ones willing to take the risk at 500k for a Div 4 striker...
Someone's passing poppers round the millers board room or something...
Also no one will take a risk on a striker with a tend towards stiking the lip out when its not going right.
Andy Scott on ALF-
"He's a goalscorer, he can score goals at any level"
Any level?
Strange then that he's still stuck at a League 2 club....
Exactly Suffolk, it's also a risk he could disrupt the vibe in the dressing room.
I just can't understand how it came to this, 3 months of planning and we buy on target (injured) and the other is plying his trade in Div 4 and has 500k on his head aswell as a mardy bum attitude..
Whilst I agree we likely need him how were there no other options? No strikers in england except O'grady & ALF
I'd just like something at our club to be done properly for once, we got rid of the poison but still seem to struggle when it comes to 'planning'
If ALFIE considers himself to be a good striker, then he'll be thinking about joining us!!! We are the biggest (if not best) club in the region. We do have a decent defence, and midfield but are lacking in his department. I think him and Madine would form a cracking partnership that would strike fear into the hearts of all our rivals. Something nobody has mentioned is the fact that he wouldn't have to move house, which is often a big stumbling block in transfers. This is the reason many Londoner's refuse to move north. Leaving all your friends and neighbours behind, unless you'd be earning mega-bucks, is never a nice proposition! Finally, should he come to us and things work out, we could, ourselves be in the championship next season with hopes of doing a Norwich and getting back to the promised land. There are sleeping giants such as ourselves who are all expected to get back to the Prem. sooner rather than later. The longer we leave it, the harder it gets, so come on M.M. get that wallet opened so we can get back to some real business in this crappppy league!
Listen to you lot lining up the excuses not to have him!
You really think 'sticking his lip out' is going to 'spoil the vibe' of the motley collection of gangsters, arsonists and kidnappers that makes up our dressing room? Give me a break! He's just what we need and Mandaric is a prize nobbend if the deal is not done.
Never said we shouldn't sign him...but if we're going to sign him for 500k then all things should be considered Izzy..
It's not as if we're trying to get a steal from from Man Utd's reserves for half a mill that might have a bit of an 'attitude'
struth..
I just think with his tendancy to sulk there are better players out there who will score goals and come with the added baggage
Alf is the man we need to get. Yes, there are others around but if they are any good then championship sides will get them and not us. Alf is good enough to get us out of this division, at which point we can consolidate and then re-tool the team if need be then.
