I don't think it was part of Cellini's plan to lose his fit and proper status and have an enforced absence from the Elland Rd.
That said things are a lot better now than they were a year ago. The financial situation is not as bad and the team looks stronger.
The defence is much better. If the goal scoring can be improved then the future is looking a lot better than the recent past.
The plan is working despite cellino and only just. Its got better:
Since he has left
Dropped the diamond
Only three of his players in the first team out of the 13 or 14 he signed
Imagine what we could do with a decent owner who did not think he knew about footy
I cant believe how people are talking about playoffs, were one defeat away from possibly dropping to 19th, its that congested down their. My feet are firmly on the ground and Cellino's 2 year plan isn't working yet. I do believe we wont go down
I dont believe Cellino is good in the transfer market.
We only have 2 permanent signings starting regularly at a time.
Cellino's plan is working?
3 of his 17 signings start and we finally start picking up points. His transfer policy has sent us backwards. And will continue to do so.
When he has signed 5 strikers and Morison still starts as a lone striker, how can anyone suggest his plan is working.
His plan was to sign a load of over priced players from Serie B that he thought were going to take this league by storm. To then sack any coach that couldn't work miracles with his crap signings and keep finding excuses to cover his own back.
Now that we have given up on his plan, dropped most of his signings, changed from his formation and reverted back to the players that were at the club before he arrived we have started showing promise.
Not sure how any of that was in his plan
All 7 subs every week are his signings.
If he's still here for the Summer, next season 5 or 6 of his will probably start every game and all 7 subs will be his signings.
Nobody is suggesting his plan is working which us why there wasa question mark in the title.
I was asking people what they thought of the current situation. I have nade it quite clear I am not a Cellino fan. However he nade it clear he wanted to use the academy - now has 4 if then in the starting 11 and has a team finding its feet who with a few signings, looks well prepared for next year.
Charlie Taylor playing is down to Cellino's decision to allow Warnock to leave, after seeing Taylor up close at TA. So thats 4 already, not 3.

You're seriously suggesting Cellino knows what he is doing because his signings make the bench?
Bearing in mind there is hardly enough of he previous squad left to make a match day squad so a lot of those players make the bench by default.
Yorkie,
Cellino can't get credit for 4 academy players in the side in my opinion.
2 were already established for a start. And he hasn't been here long enough to have had any influence of the development of Cook and Taylor
Charlie Taylor is not a Cellino signing.
Suck it up Faith, this time next year , 5 or 6 Cellino signings will be starting, and all 7 subs and the rest of the squad, obvs.
So all this it's Cellino's / not Cellino's signings gnashing of teeth will die a death
Look forwards, not backwards.
Embrace the positive.
And a further 25 will be deadwood then.
Also given the success or lack of regarding his signings so far the idea that this time next year we will have 6 signings starting and 7 on the bench scares me
I can't believe that you are happy to have 14 new signings not make the first team. Do. You understand how much money is wasted there? How can you see that as a success.
And how can you get excited about more of the same?
Cellino unbelievably (to his credit) got 11m for Ross. If he's wasted a lot of it so far, that's his look out. The club at this present time is his.
We are now on an upward path.
Cellino is on a learning curve re what is needed in this league.
Would you rather gfh had accepted £2m off Cardiff for Ross?
You were the gfh are misunderstood and fantastic really, wum, aren't you....
...don't go writing an essay in reply Faith
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Not sure what GFH selling Ross for £2million has to do with Cellinos inability to spot talent
I notice you don't even have enough belief I your opinions to respond to any points I make
You lot who always have a go at Cellino and blame him for everything.
I have a message for you.....
You're bloody mental.......get a life!
I was waiting for someone to make a thread praising Cellino for 4 academy players playing. Like it was anything to do with him.
He's made awful signings, awful managerial decisions and has held us back. Imagine if he'd have made a few good signings and stuck one decent manager in charge at the start of the season where we could be? Considering the best players this season have been academy players and those who were dropped for his awful signings.
