Remember the incident as well. He clearly could have got to the ball, but blatantly bottled out of the challenge.

Injury is still playing in his mind which goes to explain why Wenger doesn't start him.

I repeat, it took ramsey over TWO SEASONS before he started to tackle again. Read about recoveries from ACL injuries, the psychological recovery is documented as being harder than the physical

I remember the incident as well. He might have got the ball but would have had to go into the keeper after the ball. Both players would have been at risk of an injury and as Theo is an Arsenal player the ref would have probably given him a red card for dangerous play.

As he'd only just come on he would also have risked another injury by stretching his hamstring and think of the flak he would have got.

What a stupid article.

What other player got behind their defense all game?

Giroud missed an open goal and our most expensive signing, after nearly two seasons now, looks like one of the leagues biggest flops of all time

The whole team bottled it

Wenger bottled it

I wonder if there is another fanbase on the planet that gets on somebody's back after a year long injury absence quicker than Arsenal fans do.

Ozil - one of the leagues biggest flops

Just stop thinking about the bloody price tag. Yes he wasn't worth 42.5 million, but for chrissake he didn't even have that much of a bad game. Everyone in the advanced positions were poor. He is a proper number ten. In order to utilise him effectively you need the two behind him to dominate posession move the ball quickly, you need the wide men to stay wide and run into the spaces behind, and you need the striker to be mobile. Everyone needed to be better on the ball.

Was a bad game all round for all players. But especially the defenders. When your forward guys aren't working well you have to stay in the game so you can have another go in the second leg. When our forward players have a mare, the defenders go into panic and simply abandon their role. It's shambolic

You can't forget the price tag. If your coming in at that fee you need to be delivering a lot more than what he is doing. Tell me one game against a big team he has performed in?

Not sure there is even one Castor

No YOU can't forget the price tag, I have fine. It isn't my money I just judge him according to his performances. Every game since his injury he has been either good excellent or average at worst.

Sorry but when have any of our players played well against a big team?

Apart from the city game this season every other big game has been a shambles.

of course his price tag matters, otherwise why spend 42m for an average player or 10 good games in two years. OK he has been better since coming back from injury in about 4 games but he he's been useless in every game against a top team. He gets pushed off the ball so easily it's embarrassing to watch.

Not caring about the price tag of any player because it's not your money has to be one the most stupid things I hear on this site (and I read a lot of stupid things on here).

If Arsenal had an infinite amount of money then yeah but our funds are very precious. We're self sustaing, if you care about the club then you care about it's finances too.

All that said, Ozil gets a lot of stick, much of it warranted but a lot is not. He's an unreal talent in a team and position that hangs him out to dry.

it's not only about the price tag though he has simply been poor overall, players like Coutinho and Eriksen have been much better in that time.

I wonder if ppl would be criticising Ozil if Giroud had taken some of the chances where Ozil was involved in the build up.
