I must say I thought he was your weak point when we played you, a number of times our LW managed to get behind the lines.

However the attacking presence of Burke and Antonio meant we couldn't really push too much forward so it probably balanced out

Mancienne has played RB in his career but looks far more comfortable at CB or DMC. It does feel odd not to use Kane when he's been pretty solid there. Not sure I want to criticise Dougie too much though. I just think we came up against a very good Norwich side who are in good form. In our run of games since DF took over, we've generally played poor teams or teams out of form. When we've come up against a side in form (Charlton, Leeds and Norwich) we haven't got the win. The Boro home win is probably the one game we've won when I would have expected us to lose. Credit to the manager but I think Saturday showed us that we're no way ready to be challenging for promotion. Saying that, if Dex hadn't gone off injured then it might have been very different.

That's three games in a row for Mancienne at RB, though. And 3 not so good performances from him as well!

Lubo - to be fair to Lichaj, he's done (doing) OK at LB for us (compared with the previous two incumbents of that position)

Kane was dropped pretty much straight away when DF came in and then appeared in one or two of our games. Either he's got a fitness/injury issue or DF just doesn't rate him above round pegs in square holes.

Lichaj is a really talented young player but you really don't get yo see the best of him at LB.

It's a needs must situation.
I think Fox has been struggling with injuries lately, Cohen is out for the season and we let Harding go out on loan.

It may be a 'needs must' situation for Lichaj at LB, Ray, but not for Mancienne at RB when we have Kane.

Kane for RB

Mancienne didn't look too confortable at Norwich. Don't see what Kane has done wrong to warrant being dropped. The root of the problem is lack of options at left back. DF has quickly learnt that Fox can't be trusted and I think he may have realised that after the second Charlton goal at the Valley.

Yes, RFB, five loan players within an 18-man match-day squad, with a maximum of four from any one club over the whole season.

Perhaps Freedman is trying to justify another loan (striker) by showing that we are alright elsewhere (but, if that's his plan, it doesn't seem to have worked!)

It has to be Kane or Lichaj at RB, with Lichaj or Fox or Osborn at LB. MM in midfield with Gardner

I don't think moving Osborn there is sensible. He's playing great in midfield and hasn't played LB at senior level for us as far as I know. I'd go with Kane and Lichaj as fullbacks. I think Kane has played LB before so that is an option.
