Was told weeks ago that the deal was done and that Mclaren and the back room staff are also going.
Coincidentally coinciding with our loss of form. Thank you Mr Mclaren.

He hasn't gone yet and talk of it is pure speculation.

If he doesn't get us promoted then I'd say he stands a fair change of getting sacked.

This story was in the Sunday Times as well. But you don't need to read, you can feel it somehow.

I agree with white swan, our bad run started with the Newcastle tap up stories, as well as Ibe going back and Martin's injury.

He will get slaughtered at Newcastle cos he ain't quite good enough. His signings have been rather poor so far except for Thorne and sadly he's injured.

Who would you want to see replace him?

They talked about it on the Sunday Supplement this morning and they all think he'd be mad to go there.

2 good seasons with us was always going to thrust him into the limelight. I expect he'd stay if we go up and leave if we don't. Nature of the beast I'm afraid

Dougie Freeman might want a step up.

None story until/if he goes, and if he does for a lot more money then you can't really blame him.

Agree with Tommo, if we go up he'll stay, if we don't then he'll go.

We change mangers every 6 months so you might get your wish iwas

Not sure there are many out there who would do a better than SM over the last 18 months

Surely if Derby do not go up, it will be seen as a failure of McClaren's tenure, ergo Newcastle will be a appointing a 'failure'.

Derby promoted? It would be strange then to defect to another Premier League club surely?

Promotion would look good on your CV but can be quickly forgotten if you struggle, look at Pearson as an example.

Really he will want a big move while his stock is still high enough

Is it though? we drew with Brum due to Shocking refereeing, had a perfectly good goal ruled out and son on and so forth.

Think our performance has dipped due to certain players being out and a loss of confidence in defence.

So bit of a none story imo.

If McClaren goes then there is little we can do except claim some compensation from Newcastle.

Not necessarily a bad thing. Mark Warburton did far better than Rosler when he took over at Brentford in similar circumstances and he is available at the end of the season.

VCRam so if McClren isn't good enough you wouldn't be bothered if he went?
for me if he went it would be a disaster for the club. I've been told if he does go Michel Laudrup will be coming.
McClaren has been the best manager at Derby since Cox.

posted on 29/3/15

BasingstokeRam, how do you think it will pan out?

posted on 29/3/15

we should be looking at better managers than Warburton...
any way we still have a manager at 7 cup finals.
Theres also talk of Sm Rush going to Chelsea. Don't know where he will ply with their squad but if he went that would be another set back for the club.

posted on 29/3/15

Dare I say it Griff, Rush would be a bigger a loss.

posted on 29/3/15

agree mate....just can't see why Jose wants him tho' he can't get in our starting 11 never mind theirs.

posted on 29/3/15

Be worse if Rush goes

posted on 29/3/15

Griff, any manager that can get Brentford to challenge for promotion to the premiership can't be that bad. When Brian Clough was appointed I thought the same about him. Not enough experience.

McClaren will go reguardless of werher we go up or not,the dip in form is directly linked to Newcastle interest in him.its knocked the club badlyj
JFH at burton albion looks a good bet as a replacement but it would be bad form to try and get him. if MC leaves i realy hope paul simpson wants to be his own man again and stays and with eric steele preferably

posted on 29/3/15

I could think of worse than Laudrup taking over if it comes to it.

We have the players to suit his style.

JFH at Burton

Catch a grip there fella.

I can't think of any better igor mi old

talking to a couple of players and the feeling in the squad is that he isn't going as he's already lining up players for next season. He's been working with chris evans on players to sign in the summer and players he's looking at moving on due to better players coming in. Tom Ince has just paid over £2m for a house near carsington. He's not looking at going back to Hull. I know where I'd rather live.
