He's just signed a 5 year contract. Can't see him going any time soon!

Yes Hazard will leave Chelsea but after five more seasons as a Chelsea player. Also he will leave for a world record fee in excess of 300 million pounds.

Not if Madrid have anything to say, Hazard also being the ambitious type can't see past it but guess we'll have to revisit this topic in the summer.

5 seasons lol
1 more at best but if he desires to leave this summer then gives 1 more year it may work against you, same happened with Cesc and Ronaldo there final seasons were more underwhelming than the one prior

Hazard thought long and hard before joining Chelsea, I did wonder if he would settle at Chelsea and in England.

He seems to have settled better than I expected and you can see week in week out just how much he enjoys playing for Chelsea.

Our ambitions are there for all to see and I am sure Hazard will want to be part of that if he can hence the recent signing of a new long term contract. I would think that alone should give us at least three more years of him.

The Spanish giants might not hold back, but we back our players, Barcelona were linked with Lampard for 3 years on the trot and he never budged.

We may lose Hazard one day however I can also see him being at Chelsea for life.

Iventor,

He will be staying at CFC for at least another 3 seasons, and if we do hit some serious silverware he may well stay longer

Unlike other clubs we are ambitious and building for success.

The last paragraph is not me talking out my backside it is the way we roll sonny !

Regarding the Hazard situation I'm not gonna beat about the bush, Madrid get what Madrid want, I trust the club with this situation and believe we will get a new world record fee for him.

If Hazard does go this summer we could realistically go for targets such as Pogba and Bale with the money.

I don't think he will be off this summer though, Perhaps the summer after.

Fair point, I do get the feeling it's different wjth foreigners though.

Hazard too has expressed his ambition of winning ballon d'or one day the best chance of doing that is usually away from the PL

Also contracts really do mean little nowadays, Suarez signed one months before leaving

I don't think nationality matters, I think it is more important that a player feels the club they are at matches their ambitions.

Agreed that winning ballon d'or the best chance of doing that is usually away from the PL, but we are working on that.

Saurez stay in the EPL was limited by his behaviour and he was as much hounded out by the press as anything.

Why would Madrid get hazard when Isco doesn't even get into their team and I regard him on similar level as hazard. Unless Bale leaves it won't happen. Barca don't need him either he won't get in ahead of Neymar. That leaves Bayern and with Ribery injuries and what not that can be a possibility.

Nationality certainly does, very few Brits have gone abroad especially whilst already at challenging clubs which takes Owen + Bale out the equation.

Lampard was a long serving player and London based throughout his career so it was always logical he'd remain Chelsea's main man whereas foreigners who strive to be the best don't have the same connection.

Cesc was a long seving member and everything revolved around him but he couldn't help himself, I expect that to be countered with club ambition...

So I'll also use Ronaldo where United were more than meeting his needs in terms of ambition but Real was too good a prospect for him, he gave an extra season at best then went.

I can see Hazard maybe giving another season to help you in Europe but the rest is inevitable imo

Very few brits are targeted to be fair.

That aside the EPL teams that lose there players to top eropean clubs tend to do so because their ambitions do not match those of their players or their teams are not capable of standing up to those teams finically. We are good on both fronts and do not have a record of selling our best players at their peak.
