Balo's the scapegoat for the season really
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He's not the "scapegoat" for me. There are other players who've been just as bad. But to say he's been unfairly judged is a bit much.
And IRU, as soon as you bring conspiracy theories into it, it gets a bit silly. To say any manager is deliberately hampering his team's performance to prove a point is bizarre.
hard to make an injured player a scapegoat though

Belmonty...yeah NBC has the "Extra Time" channels which show all of the games...I have Cox Communications...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Had a quick look. Comcast doesn't seem to have them
sterling has been playing centre forward, at a club he is settled at, with a team built around providing him with chances.
the reason he hasnt played is brendan proving a point to the transfer commitee
----------------------------------------------------------------------
For the record, I've not been one who's championing Sterling this season. I think he's been decent, but nothing special, particularly in the advanced role.
The problem we've had all season, for me, is that we don't have a goalscorer. We can discuss the individual merits and weaknesses of our attackers all day, but at the end of it all, our troubles this season have largely come down to not putting the ball in the net.

its not a conspiracy theory, brendan laughed at the idea of us signing him at a press conference, he was bought in as a last chance at the end of the window, brendan never wanted him
brendan would rather play a young winger up front than a fit international standard striker, maybe they were working on something so hes kept him back while he improved, but hes certainly been better recently
for me the problem is our approach play, no penetration, slow build up, too many touches in midfield, all things lallana has been highly guilty of
Afternoon chaps, how's it going? I've been out and about all afternoon.
"how's it going?"
playing well, generally dominating
lacking the final ball
seems comfortable to the point of boring a bit
140 corners since our last goal from one

I would've thought we'd have all learned to take summer press conferences with a pinch of salt by this point. It's always dodging the question and non-commital answers. You can't give away your strategy to the press.
And you're right, approach play has been an issue. To pin that directly on Lallana is a bit strange though. While he's been far from spectacular, I think most would agree he's been a fairly solid 6-7/10 performer.
I don't trust any conspiracy theory not involving Elvis.

oh im not saying he is squarely to blame, im just saying he exhibits all those poor qualities that have hampered our usual playstyle.
for me hes been a 5-6/10, anyone for his value should be a 7-8 imo

His stats aren't really a great deal worse than Sterling or Coutinho. Obviously, assists and goals don't paint the full picture, but he's not contributed an awful lot less than two of our better players. I agree that we should've gotten more from him, but I think he's far from our biggest problem at the moment.
Really poor this first half. Looking totally devoid of ideas in the final third. Don't think we've had a shot on target
Such a shame the season looks to have fizzled out like this
Balotelli is the lazyiest striker ever! Does he ever make a run!
I actually feel sorry for Borini!
To be honest, I've never liked the idea of one up front. I realise it's successful for a lot of teams, I just prefer the gung-ho approach of two or three up top
its odd, they have created nothing, mig has been a spectator, but we seem unable to create either
Get Mario off.
No movement, not running behind defence and poor body language

Ironically, I don't think that's true today. He's actually been getting involved a bit more, winning the ball back a couple of times. We've just been devoid of ideas in the middle.

are you watching him?
as we pass it around the edge of the 18 yard box he makes numerous runs at goal to get ahead of the CB for the cross he is expecting
Our pedestrian midfield and a lack of penetrating play are the problem here, can you really say hes had anything near a half decent chance to attack?
