Reality is that Benteke has decided to turn up again. The problem is that his form will get him a move and it will be a struggle to replace him
Still a lot of work to do to stop this same thing again next season
Well done on your win but I would like to remind you all that Poyet did an even better job at Sunderland last season and look how that ended up!
You need to keep Benteke (same as we need to keep Saido) and build around them.
I think you guys need a defensive and cm overhaul as we need a whole midfield overhaul barring fletcher and yacob
We need a CM overhaul ?? Really ? Delph cleverly westwood have all played fantastic since Sherwood has come in .. Ok Cleverly might go elswhere in the summer but to say we need a massive overhaul is total nonsense !!
Yes excellent at times today. I think the Delph, Benteke, Grealish trio look great together.
My only worry is Vlaar in defence. He seems to be so slow in his decision making. I can see us going the rest of the season undefeated.
Sherwood has been great. Fair play to him we are now a different side. Also the atmosphere was incredible again.
Sherwood has made me eat humble pie !

Dlo yes I would say you do, how often do bang average players look great under a new manager just to settle back down to their level again.
Delph is quality granted, but westwood has never really done much for me and Cleverley as you said looks like he could be off so yes I would say and overhaul.
Let's be honest if both our teams lined up for next season the same we'd both be in a relegation battle again.
On paper we dont actually have a bad side, the fact is we now have a manager that set's up to actually have a go at teams and try and score goals. Under Lambert we were robotic for 2 years and players we either played out of position or not given license to get forward. Delph could play for a top 4 side in my opinion. Westwood probably dosent get the credit he deserves as he plays in the holding role of the diamond. We clearly are not safe yet unlike yourselves after a great win today, but if we do stay up i think a few signings along with Grealishes emergence should hopefully get us nearer a mid table finish. First things first. We MUST stay up !!
Woys, I think us Villa fans no more about midfield players than u guys.
All WBA do is bypass their midfield playing the worst brand of football in the division.
Fair play on getting the 3 points, but I am not too convinced WBA fans will put up with the hoof ball for too long.
As for us Sherwood seems very good at improving individual players, Bacuna, Benteke, Delph, Cleverley, Westwood, Nzog and giving Grealish a run.
Still need a few more points, but 3 against West Ham and we are almost over the line.
It's a joy to watch football again. Cannot believe this is the same team that was so lackadaisical earlier in the season. Tim Sherwood has done a sterling job. Still cannot believe we could still go down, but with the way we're playing and the fixtures we have left (two home games which on paper you would back us to win) I am sure we will have enough to stay in the division and build for next season. And if we can win the FA Cup it would top off what has been a remarkable turnaround.
I honestly think that next season we could be at the other end of the table, especially if we get a takeover with significant investment in certain areas. I suddenly am really hoping that Cleverley moves to us permanently, as Sherwood has rejuvenated him. We must build our attack around him, Delph, Grealish and Benteke for next season, booster our defence (hope Vlaar makes a u-turn and decides Villa is a good place to be for next season), sign a speedy winger and a proper holding midfielder (or play Sanchez more) and continue to play with confidence and intent like we are now.
Hopefully Tim sticks by his word that he will get us competing at the right end of the table provided we get through this relegation dogfight. Good times could be around the corner again after a nightmare few years
wait until next season and the new manager bounce has worn off before you all suck him off eh
you are still not safe ffs

Only reason villa are where they are now is because they spent most of the season with an inept manager tactically.. just because sherwoord plays players to their strength doesn't mean it's just down to "how often do bang average players look great under a new manager just to settle back down to their level again".
I don't think we would be where we are now if Lambert wasn't in charged. Not saying we'd be up in the top 6, but we'd not be in the relegation battle if lambert wasn't here for 70% of the season IMO. As for WBA. I think where they are now is their level. I have always associated WBA with 14th on a best season or relegation battle on a average season.. not trolling but that's how I have always seen WBA... villa are a step up... just haven't been cutting it lately so been mixing it with you guys. form is temporary class is permanent
Your league position come the end of the month will be testament to your measure of form and class.
The ironic thing is that at the end of Lambert's first year the team looked promising. Of the bunch bought in the second year, only Bacuna (not played by Lambert this season), Kozak (long term injury) and Okore (out a long time with an injury) remain. We'll never know why the team took a nose dive in the second year, but it never really recovered under Lambert.
We're doing well now because we've got good players, and a manager with the outlook and skills to make good use of them. That was a great performance yesterday, but look at the players we've got on the bench as well; Sinclair, Guzan, Hutton and Sanchez stand out, but Weimann, Cole and Senderos are good players. And Clark, Baker, Gabby, Richardson and Okore not even on the bench.
Can't wait for next season (if we stay up!). Winning the Cup would be a good prelude. I think Benteke will stay, at least for one more year. He's now enjoying being back, and another year with the team set up to play to his strengths must be tempting.
