Leo Varadkar is strengthening the anti #Covid19 measures Ireland

Hes just announced:

-a lockdown until April 12th. Everyone to remain at home aside from essentials, shopping, exercise etc

- all gatherings in public to be prohibited
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Just watching it
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Were your streets empty, and parks and beaches and nobody in cars?

Fook here say we should shut down like China, but we do not...even now.

Brits, Irish, Europeans and Americans will not lockdown like China and Asia.

Just sayin
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We are locked down from midnight for 2 weeks, no one allowed leave their home unless its food shopping or medical appointments
Allowed to leave for exercise but must stay within 2km from home

Largely because our government cannot weld doors shut
There’s a balance I’m almost certain they have factored into the algorithm they must have it’s not defiance it’s ignorant and stupid

Sounds wise.

Good luck, Irish.

I've been fairly incredulous the with it all today. A bit angry about the state of affairs. The concept of our CMO coming down with it is beyond satire. I don't doubt how hard they have been working and wish them the quickest of recovery. Thank F it wasn't SARS. Hopefully lessons will be learned in terms of protocol for key government personnel.

Sure there will be multiple enquiries in the next few years. A lot of lessons to learn all round.

Trump throwing Boris under bus in his conference saying he was hitting him up for ventilators. Absolute moron. Trump also throwing GM under the bus too.

I think this comes under the category of highly possible, but never to be proven one way or the other. 🤷‍♂️

I'm not following, Admin. Isn't it good leadership of Trump to order GM and Ford to make ventilators? Also trying to help out us?

I think/hope lessons will be learnt and health care, emergency protocols and contingency plans should be high on any political manifesto in the coming years.

It's great, but there were issues with GM not playing ball and trump was not shy in sharing. Same with Boris's predicament. It felt like an ass covering performance. On the plus side... As an aside the guy they have put in charge of the production oversight (Pete) seems to be a sharp cookie.

Trump has put pressure on GM and Ford. They will in turn act quicker to keep favour with the car buying public. No doubt Trump will praise them later which will repay consumer approval.

I don't deny there is some politicking going on, but it is for benefit of the country/countries and the peoples well-being.

On the manufacturing note, I'm sure many of you know about it but reading about how Ford helped win WW2 is quite interesting. 👍

A1,

Watch this John Oliver Trade episode and you probably won't be thinking Peter Navarro is "on the plus side" of anything.

From the 13 ish minute mark is where Pete comes in, though the whole thing is brilliant.
