Balotelli doesn't deserve defending because his effort on the pitch has been mediocre at best.
BUT, Rodgers hasn't handled him well either.
From agreeing to sign him in the first place (which he didn't need to!), to not really making much of an effort to get the best out of him.
A shambles all round, that's why he has to go to whoever will have him.
I watch a lot of LFC games these days as I have LFC supporting relatives/friends and have a lot of sports channels.
I have to say I saw Lambert play the other day and thought although rusty due to lack of game time he added a dimension to your team that isn't there with sterling et al
Why he has limited games was the question. The discussion that then ensued was about BR simply not using the available strikers properly and one thing was that with balotelli every man and his dog knew his mentality. He is arm around the shoulder and loved type of player who sulks and doesn't bother if not.
It is obvious to said man and dog that he has been vilified by media in the main and BR instead of fighting for him seems to support it by limiting his time on the pitch etc
Basically man management then became the topic and the handling of Gerrard and sterling was discussed.
Basically conclusion was BR is craaap at man management and balotelli has potential if managed right.
Hard to argue I thought
I think crap at man management is harsh but he's been hit and miss.
Some players have come on leaps and bounds under him. Henderson for example, Flanagan last season, Sterling remember was nothing before Rodgers arrived.
Mignolet has been excellent since being dropped, so you have to give Rodgers credit for that if you are giving him stick for others.
Gerrard has nothing but good things to say about Rodgers, just listen to him, so how anyone can say he has managed him badly is beyond me.
He has managed the strikers badly this season. 4 PL goals is a pathetic return for the 3 fit strikers we have had.
They are all better than 4 goals between them.
BR keeps giving Balo a cold to be fair.

You forgot about Suarez. He got him from scoring a dozen goals in a season to being the best in the league by a country mile.
We should keep Balotelli after all he was a great investment. £16m for 1 Premier league goal
Just looking at Mario's stats I am actually surprised he is given the beef he is.
Considering his reputation for being sulky and unmotivated his stats at Milan and city before he left ain't bad.
Unless I have used the wrong site it says
City 33 (21) 20 goals
Milan 37 (6) 26 goals
Liverpool 10 (6) 1 goal
I am assuming the brackets are subbed or didn't start or both? Anyone shed light on that
Seems he scores if given game time even when being a caant

Nah Suarez was and is WC and more about him going BR IMO
69 in 107 for lfc
80 in 110 for ajax
He was a goal machine from the off
Has 16 for barca in about 24
You can't give him no credit for Suarez, that's just silly.
He built an excellent team around him when others wanted him out of the country for his antics.
That's the trouble with arguments like this.
People make excuses for things that have gone well because it doesn't suit their argument.

Sorry but Suarez scoring ga sh.itload was not about BR making him a better striker or player. I aka huge fan of Suarez's and if I could find I would show you my support for him during his handball when playing for his country and my dismay at him signing for LFC
I know he gets a lot of stick but quite honestly I put Suarez in the same bracket as messi and ronaldo. This was before LFC
Sure BR set the team to play to and for Suarez's strengths but quite frankly Suarez COULD do it on a cold night at Stoke even playing for Burnley.
More suprising also that buying balo and lambo why not play to their strengths.
My support from the old 606 is what I meant
A crap man manager wouldn't have been able to handle Suarez.
Suarez was scoring at the rate he did in his last season at Liverpool until his final season.
Rodgers got the best out of him.
He isn't a crap man manager.
He does make mistakes though, and treads a fine line between ostracising players and keeping them on side.
Not sure how much he handled Suarez. Suarez deserved credit for not sulking and getting on with it despite wanting to leave.
The fine line you speak of suggests bad man management.
I remember that rant he did when being filmed with that going player. Fair enough do it but on camera? Sums up the man.
BR hasn't got a clue about handling the media which is odd because you get the feeling that he thinks he's got it 👅
