Aha, yes. I hadn't looked at it like that.
It's all good in fairness.
70s
Walkabout 1971
McCabe and Mrs Miller 1971
(The Andromeda Strain 1971)
Cabaret 1972
The Godfather 1972
Badlands 1973
Don't Look Now 1973
Mean Streets 1973
(The Day of the Jackal 1973)
(The Exorcist 1973)
Fear Eats the Soul 1974
Chinatown 1974
(Godfather Part 2 1974)
Barry Lyndon 1975
The Passenger 1975
Jaws 1975
(Dog Day Afternoon 1975)
(Network 1976)
Taxi Driver 1976
(Star Wars 1977)
Alien 1979
Apocalypse Now 1979
That was how I read it. Then again, back when I saw Reservoir Dogs on general release, I took it to be a powerful statement against violence.

no, that makes sense.
also an excuse to shoot some beautiful colours, which Malick is never going to say no to.
Don’t look now, now that’s a pretty mad film

Wow that was next on my watch list
I got to 55 minutes.
*Mel Gibson's a shining light.
*They blew most of the budget and directorial expertise in the 1st 10 minutes.
*It's probably been quite influential on all these daft comic type "universe" movies that get made these days
god, the quality of movie making just fell of a cliff at the end of the 70s/start of the 80s.
it's like someone flicked the switch marked "hey, let's not bother"
finally after 3 hours wasted on Mad Max 2, Videodrome and 48 Hours, I think Ghostbusters is actually going to make the longer list.
I realised I hadn't checked the 80s properly.

An all time classic.
I’ve seen the new film, well not really, I passed out for aboot 20 mins, cos it was really boring… then I didn’t know what was happening…
Got to watch it again,,, but I think GB 2016 could be better,
Can’t believe I just said that….

You watch your filthy who-uh mouth!
It's such an original idea as well. Lots of ghost films, but not aware of any about ghost catchers!
Btw, not ghost busters, but a ghost film here in colour from 1897!!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ftEDCkFhpp4
that could easily be in my top 100.
that's a super movie.
it's not in the top 100.
i just mean it's not far away/could be in the conversation.
I'm adding Enter the Dragon (73) to the longer list.
I'll finish the 80s list tomorrow (and hopefully 90s too).
The 80s:
(The Long Good Friday 1980)
Raiders of the Lost Ark 1981
E.T. The Extra Terrestrial 1982
