FRIDAY THEME
In honour of the Euros, I thought a sports theme would be suitable this week.
Name your top 3 favourite sport movie scenes of all time. This should exclude any fictional sports like Quidditch or podracing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The Hoosers - Head Coach, Gene Hackman gets ejected on purpose from the game and forces assistant Dennis Hopper to step up.
Escape to Victory - Pele overhead kick
Dodge ball,- The whole tournament.

I vote String for the bantz
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah I want String to finally run a thread too. It's aboot time he did
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He did a match thread last season and it was quality. Accidentally deleted and banned two people and deleted me at the end in am act of retribution. Epic stuff.
Oh right, missed the scenes part. Shut up Mike you caant.
OK best scenes:
Gettysburg, scene and speech in Remember The Titans
Dodgeball blindfold
Mighty Ducks winning scene
Dodgeball is such an underrated movie.
No mention of classics like Rocky or Karate Kid?
Any Given Sunday - fight for every inch
Caddyshack - cinderella story, he's got about a 9 iron
Rocky
I guess this doesn't count as a sports movie, but if it was best sports scene, then my winner by a mile would be the scene at the baseball stadium in Kurosawa's Stray Dog (1949):

absolute blueprint

Random music for a film/setting like that.
Best sports movie scene is obviously the Michael Thomas bit of Fever Pitch and the street party after
fking stupid music, its the same thing ubisoft have done for the new assassins creed, when the 15th century african comes on screen they start playing a hip hop track facking morons
Also denzel is playing marcinus (north african emperor who never visited rome, techincally he was berber not subsaharan african, but i can overlook it)

Apparently the whole soundtrack is that album
Going to be interesting to see what scene they link Ni**as in Paris to, something to do with the Gauls maybe
If you like history hes worth reading about, i doubt the film will be faithful in any way, its ridley scott after all
Thought The Watchers was fun. Not great but I love folk horror. Same reason I adored Exhuma. Fantastic Korean horror.
Is Watchers scary?
I like folk horror butt not if it to scary

How exactly is it disgraceful? I honestly don't get it. Could someone explain?
I just don't see why anyone would find the music offensive, or even worthy of conversation.
Cos its so out of place, we have gone from Zimmer to some B roll hip hop from the 90s. Fine for FF, is awful in a serious period set piece. And the fact that so many of the comments I have read suggests ALOT of people found it a very odd choice
That's makes zero sense tbh, and in this day and age what a lot of people are saying is is as likely to be almost silly and nonsensical as it's is to be common sense. A lot of people voted for Brexit so I don't think the "a lot of people argument" is reliable. Zimmer or Hip hop is all modern contemporary music to me. Zimmer is a class act and to me it's nice to see them mix it up.
So we've gone from Zimmer to hip hop which isn't OK.
The hip hop is also out of place, I don't know by what standard or how that's measured as it's a movie or game.
It seems you are also arguing that the hip hop used is not good enough. If they used a better hip hop track that wasn't B roll, would that be OK? Or should they just ditch the hip hop once and for all?
I just don't get it, sorry.

That sounds like a you problem bro - have a nice day
"A lot of people" offended by a little hip hop music because they want even more Zimmer. Probably find it's the same people that accuse others of being easily offended and woke that are offended by something like this.
