Btw, I just started my subscription for Mubi this month, it's a bit like Netflix but it constantly changes the selection of films.
It might not interest all of you as it is mostly foreign and older films, but it's certainly good if you are into more niche films.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Cheers will look into it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They have Primer, Blue Valentine, Lady Vengeance and Portrait of Lady on Fire right now
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Black Hawk have you seen Undone? It is an amazing TV show on Amazon Prime by the makers of Bojack Horseman. It is really quite something.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ah cool, I had actually not heard of it, thanks I will definitely have a watch - I really enjoyed Bojack.

Portrait of a Lady on Fire is possibly the most visually beautiful film I have ever seen.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It is a really good looking movie!
I think visually the best movies I have seen have been from Tarkovsky, a lot of his work look like moving paintings.
Also, Barry Lyndon is a beautiful movie!

Agreed on Tarkovsky’s work and Barry Lyndon. Beautiful films. I will forgive even the most basic of problems in a movie if I am visually overwhelmed by it.
Am I right in thinking you are a Bojack Horseman fan? If so, I would like to reiterate my earlier comment - Undone on Amazon Prime is the best show I have seen in months.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I really enjoyed Bojack, it's arguably the best Netflix original series.
I will definitely try it out, I had not heard about it until you just mentioned it, so I'm excited to hear something made by the same people

Yep, it is only 8 episodes of 23 mins.
One more comment before I left it go and stop nagging you
You know we were talking about visually beautiful, well, I would suggest you should look at Undone’s beauty?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6uWCNHQgfnc
It looks rather unique
Maybe you can see just from the visuals why I liked it so much.
Sorry, will stop going on about it now. If you get round watching it at some point let me know.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Of course.
I'm just finishing off the TV show Girls, I'm going to give this a go after I have finished

I know this speaks badly on me but Lena Denham always comes across as really annoying and as an archetype of a liberal hypocrite, to the extent I sometimes think she might be a parody character created by Breitbart.
So, consequently I havent watched her show. I keep putting it off. The worst thing is I know I would like Girls if I watched it - her politics puts me off the same way I am sure many are put off Clint Eastwood.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think the point of the show is that it makes fun of the stereotype - I really dislike Lena, I personally think of her as an awful person.
However, none of the liberal characters are painted as good people, it's quite the opposite - they are some of the most pathetic dislikable characters.
I thought I would hate it, but it's quite funny and a really good critique of people living with metropolitan bubbles.
However, it's a hard one to recommend as whilst I enjoy it, my intensive dislike for Lena Denham makes me feel she doesn't really deserve peoples admiration.

Props to whoever it was on here who recommended Dark (I think it was this thread). Mind-bendingly good.
Not a TV show but quite enjoyed Chris Dleias new special. Not his best mind.
I've started rewatching Dexter after a very long hiatus. I've picked it up again in season 3. I seem to remember being told a couple of years back that I should stop at the end of season 4 as it goes downhill after that. Or was it season 5? Anyone seen it all who can answer that ?
Stop after his sister finds out. Get's stupid after that. Can't remember what season that is.
Dexter brilliant series don’t care what anyone says. It got a bit far fetched, but still fantastic especially the 1st 4/5 seasons. Trinity killer one of the greatest.
So stop at the end of season 5 then ? Or worth persevering until season 8?
Hello Dexter Morgan!!!!! One of greatest scenes ever
Nope keep watching, don’t listen to people. You can’t stop watching a show halfway through, what’s the point of the investment ? It’s still got some great episodes In the later seasons
