GOT was far worse but I always thought the police squad would find out about Dexter. The guys close to him like Vince and Batista finding out would have been a much better ending.

Hmm...I think it depends. For example, you can watch the first Matrix film and pretend that's the end quite easily.
Same with some TV shows - you really don't need to go beyond about season 12 for The Simpsons, while imagining your own ending to Game of Thrones and checking out at the close of S6 is the smart move in hindsight.
Likewise, you don't need to go beyond S1 of Heroes, or about S7 of Walking Dead - you have your pleasures by that point.

Not for me mate. You invest in a TV show, you watch until the end. Unless of course it’s a show you don’t particularly like or you lost interest in then that’s ok. But, If its a show you actually enjoy, you don’t just stop halfway just because someone tells you it’s not very good towards the end

Some shows you just can't watch till the end. They just get stupid so why waste an hour. Recently I binned Altered Carbon. Season 1 was okay but Season 2 was horrendous.

Finally watched the mandalorian. Enjoyed it.

I'd probably watch through the end of Dexter, I remember finding Colin Hanks interesting and that was fairly near the end. So I think it dips but gets better then ends horribly?
GOT finale was arguable even worse, probably because the quality had just been so good until those last two seasons and they had so much good faith in the bank. That one hurt a little
Funnily enough I found The Walking Dead VERY slow and boring in parts, but as I binged most of it I just had those bits on in the background as I flicked through my phone and it became kinda interesting again. Enjoyed the last season a lot, not sure if the quality picked up or I'm in some sort of TV show stockholm syndrome situation

I've been meaning to start watching Altered Carbon. You may have just changed my mind on it though if it's that bad. Admittedly I did watch about ten minutes of the very first episode when it came out and it didn't grab me much at all.
