Guess The Boys pulls off something similar.

Although S2 was trash for me.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Really? Think it's been pretty good so far.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Edging towards busby on this one, though I’m still enjoying it
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't think it's as good as S1 but trash is a bit harsh.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah it’s not trash at all, just hasn’t captured my attention nearly so much as s1.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Fair. I couldn’t stop watching S1. I’ve got to episode 5 or 6 and just can’t be bothered.

No interest in it tbh. I love comic books but just seems dumb.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You are the opposite from me, comic books I’ve no interest in I think marvel is nonsense especially their films, so took me a while to watch the boys, glad I did, it’s nothing like marvels crap.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Same here. I’ve tried Marvel again since Disney+ came about, just find it all so predictable and the over reliance on CGI instead of telling a good story is a real issue for me.

With Fantastic 4 and X Men back home, think this is just the start.... maybe don’t draw the films out over 20.
You would think within that 20 piece saga there would be that one that stood out....
like a Logan for instance. But they’ve hit on a formula that works for the most part.
We just at the beginning people.....

Pretty accurate busby, there are some good ones as npe states, but mostly drowned out by predictable claptrap. 80% of avengers was crap, did enjoy GoG and X-men though.

People should be greatful to Marvel. Comic books have existed for over a century but now they've hit the screens properly for the first the in the last 2 or 4 decades.

Marvel have set a pretty high standard for the future to be better than IMO. Feel the judgment here is a bit harsh. Its not like anyone has done it better than Marvel overall, no?

Clap trap? Compared to what? The dross that DC puts out?

Any decent film where they can create a good storyline and not be super predictable, so claptrap against a lot of movies..examples, slider man, captain marvel, most of the avengers films, a load more that made so little impression I’ve forgotten them.

Oops. Spider-Man not sure why my phone preferred that?

With the exception of Endgame I accept they lack the emotional impact or pathos of the best DC or Fox superhero movies like Dark Knight, Logan or X Men 2, or even Sonys Spider-Man 2
-----
Perhaps its easier to get things right with a one off movie, or even 3 movies.

Overall X-mens plot is all over the place, the continuity of the X-men universe is a joke. Apocalypse was a complete waste of a supervillain with potential to match Thanos. It was painful what they reduced it to.

Apocalypse and Doomsday, two of the top villains in DC universe wasted on a sheet movie and 15 mins in another movie respectively. They've blown their load for nothing. All they have left is Darkseid and if they don't kill of with Darkseid then they never will.

So while they made one or two good movies along the wat, overall they are an embarrassment to comic books. I feel Marvel have done a better job of representing the essence of comic books. Beat the smaller bosses and finally the big bad comes.

Nolan’s Batman is way better than anything marvel did. Thorgen you have to think of it from a non comic fans perspective, most of us couldn’t give a flying feck if the X-men continuity was all over the place or apocolypse was a bad ass, we don’t care.

All we want is a good story that’s not predictable or cheesy, where marvel fail nearly every time. Spider man , all of them are a massive waste of time.

OK, I guess if you put it that way it does make sense to me. However, is still your opinion, with due respect, because the box office disagrees. Clearly non comic book fans also love Marvel movies judging from the absolutely stunning returns.

No denying they are phenomenally successful, so was the recent Star Wars movies, but neither were all that good. Just had the right hype and ingredients to be an easy sell to the masses.

Hype and ingredients (what do you mean by ingredients anyway) that most other movies don't have. This makes it likely to be a good movie in the eyes of most people. A few of their movies flopped a little so it's not just hype. A bad movie could still flop.

Nolan’s Batman trilogy sets the standard for those types of movies.

Rewatched American Psycho, not as good as I remember although Bale makes it watchable.

Sin City, Hellboy 1&2, Kickass, The Crow, Unbreakable, The Rocketeer, Dredd....just off the top of my head. So yeah, people have done much better than Marvel imo.

Apart from specifically Hardy as Bane, & Ledger as the Joker - who is outstanding...the majority of these films in type & content are just...meh for me...but i'm no comic book fan by any means...I know many are

How many of those I listed above have you seen Sheriff?

I thought Bane was weak and his voice was comical. The worst movie by far in that trilogy. I was bored.
