I think it's because Zac Snyder is lauded as a great director, and his films are all crap.

Is he lauded as a 'great' director?

No he isn't. And the remake of dawn of the dead is shlt.
I always viewed him as a like a 'cool' director who has made some interesting things. Watchmen for instance
Sucker Punch was a big let down

Nope.
I watched Army of the Dead. Nope.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Correct. Its not even enjoyable. It's not even silly fun. It's just so stupid without charm.
Watchmen buys him a lot of credit in the bank for me. Seriously underrated
Yeah its nice that Watchmen has gained more popularity as time has gone on
I never really liked 300
But i was a teenager when that came out and it was one of those films everyone had seen and was talking about
Yeah 300 I only watched one. The womenz were the best part. 🍆
300 and The Hangover
Two films i pretended to rate more than i actually did because my friends wouldnt shut up about/quoting them all the time
Lol another one I've only seen once and don't care to see again
300 I thought was fun. And it was the first film I ever saw alone at the cinema, so has some sentimental value (or just really sad ).
Watchmen is his best imo, though I've never read the comic series. I also liked Man of Steel more than most did. The rest I didn't much care for.
So nobody knows what to class Army of the Dead? I thought it was sci-fi mainly because it's a disease that changes everyone but then they decompose yet gain strength and speed as well as super drastic poses, fashion sense and a t-rex/Predator voice instantly. So that comes off as some sort of fantasy because gaining strength and speed when decomposing seems like magic to me. It's certainly not horror.

Aside from my pet hate of the overused ethereal slowed-down version of a classic song I thought this looked great.
Don't get me started on bad covers
Saw Midnight Run again, still a classic!
Ooo hello Edgar Wright again
I remember enjoying Baby Driver quite a bit but still haven't really had to urger to watch it again.
Tbf I think only Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz keep me coming back. World's End....meh

Watchmen wipes he floor with marvel, it along with Nolan’s Batman are the best in the genre. More cerebral thinking mans superhero movie.
