I dont think anyone has really been able to copy Pink Floyds sound either, like Zeppelin have a sh'tton of copycats
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not sure what this is meant to show.
Zeppelin were definitely more straight forward in their approach but impossible to completely emulate due to the genius of each individual musician.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Some art can only be pulled off by the originator and some is replicable
It doesnt necessarily mean one is better than the other but its a quality in itself that speaks to me personally
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I see. I dont see Floyd as being untouchable as far as replication. More likely that there's just no where to go with their sound. Floyd reached some monstrous heights but a LOT of their stuff is kinda boring or just doesn't click.

There are only a few Stones songs I really like too....
Sympathy for the devil, Angie, & Gimme Shelter...not mad about much else
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Gimme shelter is top 5 ever for me. Curious to what you’d consider great then. I’m similar with stuff like Prince, his music does almost nothing for me, I don’t see the appeal.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
OMG 2! Purple Rain album
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Does nothing for me. Especially the title track.
Floyd - do have some great tunes and are sensational musicians but I’ve never warned to them that much. Wish you were here is a great song that I appreciate whilst realising it’s not something I’d rush to listen to….

Good Rush doc even if their music isn't for me. Seem like good guys.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Watched this about 6 months ago - very good... The very sad death of Neil Peart last year signalled the end of rush a group many people have followed for 40 - 50 years
Ironically.. I'm watching the latest episode of billions...and Wendy Rhodes has just paraphrased "penthouse walls echo with the sound of salesmen"
Lyrics of the late great Neil Peart
All 3 LOTR films are on in IMAX this weekend one after another (not the extended versions).
Done it at home, but no chance I’d stick it at the Cinema for that long without being able to control the TV myself. Would also need to remortgage the house to afford 13 hours worth of food and drink from Cineworld.
Just smuggle it in.
I once went to Cineworld with someone who had a whole rucksack full of coke cans and never got stopped. Though I still smuggle snacks in like it's cocaine.
I know you’re allowed to take stuff in, they’re pretty open about it and have been for years. Just not allowed alcohol or hot food (other than what they sell).
Would have to take a big fckin cool bag for a whole day there though with no time between showings.
