It is a mess. Considering I don’t know much about Supergirl or Batgirl. I mean I know of them, see them now and again, but don’t know their world. Their villains.

WB clearly have no clue what they're doing. Their constant interfering with Snyder's movies has lead to this point. The massive backlash online should be an indicator to them but it seems they stopped listening to the movie going public a while back. Not a good idea when they're your customers.

Those rumours look weak to me. Having said that a lot of Justice League comics don't have those two.
I'm not sure if that would be the right move but Superman and Batman are so stale now, and they hardly ever do it right anyway. They must be tired of fack up after fack up. A change would be apt.
