Apologies, NPE, I thought we were contributing to a platform on which we share our thoughts about the topic - in this case films - and part of the make up of those thoughts may very clearly be complaints about a film’s public perception.

99% of what we say here can be found via a quick Google search, sure, but the fun is in the active / live debate with people, no? I could read the review, but the review won’t speak back to me, sadly, and in that sense it’s a little bit like tennis, for me: it’s better with a partner…

As I have not developed telepathy or time-travel yet, I am unable to tell you why critics in 2006 gave it broadly positive opinions. Instead, I thought 'd direct you to reviews, which may be of more use to you.

Yes, but I thought you - and other users - would be able to look past the literal sense of the sentence and be able to realise that I was using quite a common semantic format to begin a debate or discussion on the film. You know how people get mad at film makers because they spell stuff out for the audience so blatantly, and complainants steadfastly assert that the audience is smart enough to work those things out for themselves? Yeah, that.

It actually was. I found it quite tense. Obviously a product of it’s time. A bit slow in parts. But I found it creepy. It’s in 2 parts. It was a TV movie.
The effects are pretty well done.

Dario Argento - famous Italian director for weird classics in the 70s like Suspiria etc

My personal masters of horror are the likes of Tobe Hooper - Texas chainsaw massacre, which is my favourite horror movie of all time

I haven’t mate, but me and the wife are planning on going in a few weeks. Going to drop our little boy off to her mums, then do a late afternoon showing. Heard good things, but trying not to read to much on it in case of spoilers

Sounds like a welcome break! Hoping to go see it soon, too; let’s hope the scariest thing is not Courtney Cox’s face after all the work 😂

Such a shame, as she was quite the dream in the original, though I guess she is getting on now
