Finished watching the Pam and Tommy series last night, well worth a watch and interesting if you want to know exactly how that infamous tape came about etc.
I'd recommend watching The Dirt first though (on Netflix) which is the hilarious biopic about Motley Crue as it ties in quite nicely to the events of Pam and Tommy which happened after.
Just got the Elvis film downloaded on Plex...i'll watch that this week
So can throw Sandman in the "high potential, amazing source material, badly executed" box with most book adaptations......it's beautiful and well shot, story is just meh and we should have just had what is coming in season 2 in this season. Pacing is awful. Super slow with lots of details on stuff that's boring, to mega fast and quickly glossing over the best stuff
Just finished Blackbird on Apple TV. Thought it was excellent and the two lead characters, Jimmy Keene and Larry Hall were fantastic. Has a True Detective feel to it, and well worth checking out if you haven’t seen it.
Jeez just saw the sad news about Anne Heche being involved in a very serious car accident. Not expected to make it apparently.

No, it was very good I thought. Had more soul then any marvel nonsense. Was decent, maybe did have some pacing issues, but it’s good

Greyhound is the only thing on Apple TV that appeals to me, hence why I don’t subscribe to it.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
I’d say so
Ok, then I’ll shoot
Cons for me - The dialog in places felt unnatural for the time. I was disappointed to find out the Comanche was dubbed rather than reshot, I think cos there wasn’t much dialog, leaving it as Comanche would’ve been better.
It’s short, but for what it was it was fine. But you always want just a little bit more.
The Cgi animals looked off in places.
And while overall the lead actress was good, I felt her reactions at times weren’t on point for the scene.
Felt she could’ve been a bit more emotive.
Pros - The Predator was cool.
Loved how they made the girl smart, but wasn’t a Mary Sioux.
Beautifully shot. The action was great.
All the Actors were fine, no one jarred me. Thought the Brother was a cool character. I liked the cooling of the blood.
It’s a shame they made this for streaming, cos with a bigger budget we could’ve seen maybe the Predator encounter a crew in a Ship, I saw that in a comic strip, and when the film finished I kept thinking how cool a sequence that could’ve been.
I don’t know what they do for a sequel, cos we know the Predators come back, and most probably kill the Comanche and get the Gun.

Pretty much this
Though will also add cons of the last fight Vs the Predator - I really dislike what I call the Rocky moment in films in which an enemy who just spent the previous hour and a half destroying everything in its path become a complete weakling and do random stuff they hadn't previously done......
Also very disappointed to find out the Comanche was dubbed
Also the unsubtle writing of the first half an hour that's just so cliche and boring
"You are a girl you can't hunt...."
"You are a girl you must cook..."
" You are a ............"
Like is she a girl and apparently capable of nothing? Ok we get it, but is it necessary to shove it down our throats. Feel Alien is a perfect foil to this as basically the same film but superior on every level and pretty much covers all the same topics.
Would love to see as others have said maybe a series of these types of films from throughout history. Predator in feudal Japan sounds amazing, would love to see them though use the native languages. Also Jurassic Prey anyone?
I’ll add to the cons.
- made for tv budget cgi was embarrassing throughout
- bear traps catch paws/legs. Not midway up a dogs tail. Wtf was that about?
- Overly dramatic everything from the start
- Modern acting olden day Natives
- Physics doesn’t exist in this film
- Not believable small girl fighting a predator that KILLED A BEAR IN A FIST FIGHT
- She couldn’t kill a rabbit 10 mins ago and then she attaches a rope to her tomahawk and all of a sudden she’s John Wick?
- A RABBIT DOESNT SPRINT TO GET AWAY FROM A WOLF. So stupid. It will use agility. Zig zag. Drove me crazy.
Other than that and the stuff you guys said it was good.
The clouds when the ship is first “seen” looked so bad that I wanted to turn it off already.
Alien and Halloween (latest reboot) did it well but in a smart way. I agree Simon.

Agree with most of that.. although I didn’t know that about rabbits, and I like rabbits.
Yeh the Bear trap, I did forget she got trapped in one too, and seem fine. You’ve seen that in other films and well, it’s not a pretty sight.
Wasn’t she already a badass with the axe though?
So felt this was a natural progression.
