Oh another negative

- the flower magically cooling off an entire body
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But if she had been covered in mud, pretty sure there would be cries of ‘how unoriginal’... I give them credit for trying something.
And it gave us one of the funniest kills in a Predator movie.

I’ll add to the cons.

- made for tv budget cgi was embarrassing throughout
- bear traps catch paws/legs. Not midway up a dogs tail. Wtf was that about?
- Overly dramatic everything from the start
- Modern acting olden day Natives
- Physics doesn’t exist in this film
- Not believable small girl fighting a predator that KILLED A BEAR IN A FIST FIGHT
- She couldn’t kill a rabbit 10 mins ago and then she attaches a rope to her tomahawk and all of a sudden she’s John Wick?
- A RABBIT DOESNT SPRINT TO GET AWAY FROM A WOLF. So stupid. It will use agility. Zig zag. Drove me crazy.

Other than that and the stuff you guys said it was good.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
A lot of the above are nit picks, in my opinion.

Agree with most of that.. although I didn’t know that about rabbits, and I like rabbits.
Yeh the Bear trap, I did forget she got trapped in one too, and seem fine. You’ve seen that in other films and well, it’s not a pretty sight.

Wasn’t she already a badass with the axe though?
So felt this was a natural progression.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No. She couldn’t kill rabbits. But from what I remember none of the trees could dodger her tomahawk.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Aha there’s a flip side. The Goal doesn’t move either and I saw Bruno Fernandes Sky the bloody ball and miss the target.
I think we can agree that this iconic character has been let down by average to bad films, so this was a pleasant surprise. A shame they didn’t go big on it, and I wonder if we’ll ever see a big screen version again...

Anyone watched Sneaky Pete on Amazon...

Just finished season 1 - excellent going straight onto S2 and I see there's a new season out now

Can't say I have Sheriff but I'll definitely give it a try. Just googled it and it looks very much up my street.

Finally got round to watching Prey last night and was fortunate enough to watch it in a home cinema and I definitely think they should have released it in cinemas. Really enjoyed it and a very worthy entry in the Predator saga.

Watching them in the order of Prey, Predator, Predator 2 and Predators is the way to go. Maybe AvP as the fifth entry although that's up for debate.

Forget Shane Black's The Predator though, that can go on the scrap heap with the AvP: Requiem.

good stuff.

Although, I was with you up to Predator 2…
I’ll skip it if yer don’t mind.
I know, the Gun… it’s a nice touch, but still, P2 just doesn’t work for me.

Yeah Predator 2 definitely the weakest of the four mentioned although it does have some worthwhile bits for fans of the series.

Otherwise you can watch it as a high quality trilogy Prey, Predator, Predators. That's probably the way to go if you just want the creme de la creme of the series.

I won't ask why it was frustrating. I haven't seen it myself, just wanted to know if it would be worthwhile.

I prefer my Predator movies in a jungle/forest setting. The city elements in Predator 2 worked to an extent but it didn't quite work.

posted on 20/8/22

Agreed. The jungle is where the Predator shines and it makes it feel more like a sci fi movie.

On the Predator vibe I was able to watch Arnie's Predator Ultimate Edition over the weekend on a home cinema screen and it was absolutely fecking fantastic.

I recommend any Predator series fans buy the Ultimate Edition Blu Ray which is beautifully remastered and now looks like something that could have been filmed in present day. You can practically taste the 80's lol.

Given it’s a movie about an intergalactic Rastafarian hunter alien…yes belief can be suspended somewhat

If you're complaining about a rabbits movements not being exactly like it would be in the wild, maybe fiction isn't for you

Watched Elvis last night...thought it was pretty decent

Hanks was excellent as Parker, & Austin Butler (whom I am not familiar with) pretty credible in the lead

Yeah all the nitpicks for Prey are a bit much. It's hardly Rey in Star Wars levels of silliness. It's a sci-fi action movie about an alien hunter. Disbelief needs to be suspended somewhat.

New Game of Thrones series House of the Dragon is available to stream today on Now. Quite surprised by the lack of buzz around it.
