That wipes out virtually every news story, every blog, text, tweet or email Ace...
The thread would basically consist of Sizzles weekly 'footballers with names like body parts' (which I look forward to Sizz).
I quite like a nice gash, shaved or trimmed, obviously.
Greaves,
Rafael Van Der Vart was never really his signing, he even admitted that it was Levy who told him Real were offering him to us & did he fancy him. He was not on Redknapp's radar at all. Bale was not his signing & neither was Modric. Neither was Dembele one of his.
So exactly which top class players did Redknapp bring to WHL? Corluka? Good player yes, Crouch? Okay but poor in Europe. Gallas? Good but well past his best. Saha????????? Hmmmmmmmmmmmm
Pienaar? Never settled. Palacious? Spent most of his time on the deck..........
=========================
So what you’re saying is, he achieved our highest ever Premiership position – TWICE – without actually having many signings of his own. In a day and age where excuses are made for managers for “it not being their players” etc this would demand even more praise, surely!
If the signings of Palacios, Crouch (Keane and Defoe too) were so poor – how did we achieve such a high league position? Either they weren’t as poor as you are suggesting or Harry performed miracles. Which one is it?
The Holy Doos,
What sums up Harry is when we needed to beat Villa and he sent on Parker instead of Defoe
=========================
This is where it gets a bit silly. We were playing away from home, we went 1-0 down in the 35th minute, we then had a man sent off in the 49th minute, and played a total of 47 minutes (including 6 minutes injury time) with 10 men, yet STILL managed to somehow get a draw to earn an important point. If he’d gone for broke and we’d lost that game, and the loss of the point cost us 4th place, and any hope of CL football, there would have been uproar.
Chronic,
bennyville blinded by a couple of good CL results at the lane
but when the test was really on we got spanked by real madrid…
===================
Why wasn’t the test on against the previous Champions of Europe (who we beat ), or any of the other CL games, but instead when we lost in the QF in our 1st ever Champions League venture?
I would saying getting to the QF at the first attempt was pretty unbelievable stuff as it was – yet Chronic thinks benny is “blinded by a couple of good CL results”. Some ridiculous analysing there from Chronic, judged on his hated of Harry and English managers - rather than football in general .
Greaves,
You see, I have a problem with LLM as well. It seems to me that certain posters try to give an impression of being closer to the club than others and they come up with all sorts of "information" that most of us could read on the gossip columns if we cared to read. And how do I come to this conclusion? Because a lot of what LLM says is wrong.
I prefer to believe the version, not based on any inside knowledge, but one that seems the most plausible, and that is that the club supported Harry through his bad times of health and court cases and when offered a new contract his head was turned by the media clamour for him to be made England manager.
=====================
So basically you’re refusing to believe one version of events in favour of another story that you also have no firsthand knowledge or recollection of. You want to believe the worst – that’s fine – but it doesn’t make it more accurate than anyone else’s (i.e. LLMs).
That aside, I’m not judging on what he did or did not do off the pitch, I’m simply rating him purely on team affairs and his record at Spurs deserves a massive amount of credit.
