Not over the whole of 2008. He was pretty influential under Grant.

In 2007, I thought for a lot of the second half of the season he had some absolute shockers.

Yea because he was sulking and wanted to move.

Liverpool CL semi is the game that immediately springs to mind. And the 2-1 turnaround against Arsenal. I guess those big moments are the ones that are better remembered though.

Falcao has the skill,as he proved in the super cup thingy against Chelsea, when he scored with his left, right and head.

Jose can get him playing,as Costa will always go through periods of injury and suspension.

I think people are underestimating the Mourinho factor in this transfer, it may turn out to be very shrewd business.

Marcel

Agreed chum, and look at the quality Jose and Chelsea brought in last season, while the like of Liverpool and Man U got dud's.

The Mourinho factor is over stated. Its the agent factor at play here. Mourinho ho has the same agent as Falcao. If Falcao comes good (which I think he will) then Mourinho is genius and fans say LAMU and if he doesn't he has Costa and Remy there and his agent says cheers pal.

Mourinho factor worked out well with Shevchenko and Torres.

I didn't mean that it was the Mourinho factor in terms of attracting him to Chelsea, I was suggesting that Mourinho is such a high-quality manager he can probably go a long way to helping Falcao return to his best.

Jose and Torres..................not his fault.

Roman wanted Torres, and we were unlucky Nando had lost it by then.

Torres is a unique case.

No mate I didn't mean it that way either. Falcao will IMO come good. UTD just are not in this right place to give him an opportunity or games to come good.

Falcao coming good as will be down to falcao. He seems to be the hard working type

Sharing agents has allowed him to continue his rehabilitation at a top club that has options and can afford to let him to rehabilitate

The main thing giving me hope is that I thought Costa would flop, hopefully I'll be equally as off with my Falcao prediction
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Costa was never going to flop, it was obvious he was perfect for us, Falcao I have my doubts with a bit of hope.

If remy stays its a decent signing

If remy goes its a calamity

For Chelsea, Falcao only really has to pitch in with twelve goals or so to constitute a success if you expect Costa to be chipping in with around 25 and Remy with 10 goals or so.

Perhaps 'success' isn't the correct word, but if he scores twelve goals or so then it's not a bad situation as he has been bought to add to Chelsea's strikeforce- not to replace their main striker.

I'm still undecided to be honest, although I don't think we have much to lose .be interesting to see if Jose plays them in harmony as they were at Atleti !.

I think he will do better than he did at United because of the likes of Costa hazard and Fabregas will stretch defences giving him more options.

The thing with Falcao is he is simply a box striker meaning he is pretty much useless outside the 18 yard box except when he takes free kicks.

Provide him with crosses and plenty of balls in the box and he should still score his fair share.if you have a slow build up like United and he receives the ball on the halfway line he will lose the ball, slip around and do rubbish. That's pretty much guaranteed.

His work ethic is unquestionable, almost like watching welbeck at times. He is so clumsy in possession though just like danny and his finishing was way off the mark last season.

He does strike me like a Mourinho type of player but I do wonder if he can succeed at Chelsea who don't have too many creative players outside Cesc & hazard.

He will be decent but I will be surprised if he regains his best ever form. That ship has sailed irrespective of the Mourinho factor.

Fair enough but I don't think anyone at Chelsea is expecting the Falcao of two or three years ago.

Most people it seems are expecting him to flop so I don't really see how he can disappoint too badly.

While all this goes on I wonder what Monaco think, they spent aroudnd 60 million Euros on falcao, and got what in return...crazy

posted on 16/6/15

In a perfect world next year, where remy starts 5-7 league games(either wing or in place of costa) and starts 5-10 domesitcally and a couple euro games. Him and costa should have 20 goals each.
