It's been well known, I don't imagine it will have much impact apart from him perhaps needing a bigger salary due to the insurers paying out.

From what I read just now he had anonymity until today

so it must have been a leak if it was well known

seems kind of strange that he has to pay 6 mill in compo yet he was not charged with anything....

yes its a shocking accident but to pay out suggests blame

and 6 mill suggests quite a lot of blame....

I guess it could happen all the time but not be news worth unless its a football player.

I'm pretty certain it was an accident, they happen you know

If its a genuine accident and all parties are blameless then why does it fall on the lads insurance company to pay up....

I suppose blame could be attached but still be a genuine accident.

Pedestrian seems to be unable to live same lifestyle as before.

Maybe pedestrian had some form of insurance that pursued a claim against his insurance. No idea how that would work.

Looks like it's been under litigation for several years through the civil court hence the lack of detail

Your solicitor cannot stop police changing if you have committed a crime, he comes into play during the trial if you are charged
